Have to say the 30-10 loss in 2002 was the most memorable for me (born in '78). We had just come off the resounding win against Peyton and the Colts and the Raiders showed the world how to jump routes on Noodle-arm and it was never quite the same since. Ah being a Jets fan is the life.

Last time both those teams were really good, it was Namath throwing to Maynard and Sauer, and Darryl Lamonica throwing to Belitnokof and Warren Wells.

the namath/ davidson stuff was when the NFL was a mans league, lol

can you imagine those hits today ?  QB had to be the toughest guy on the team

How about when they trotted out Tim Brown's entire extended family and his plumber for his 10,000th catch?

They completely stopped the game for that shizz.

Speaking of Tim Brown, how about the game where Rich Kotite thought a converted QB playing his first game at corner should match up against Brown.

It was brutal - no protecting the qb like they do today. I remember Ben Davidson smashing Otis Taylor of K.C. (those were also huge rivalries) while he was down, and a fight broke out. It was like watching WWF where Ben Davidson is the villian, and the Chiefs were the good guys. But it's weird, because as tough as the AFL was, they were huge underdogs to the NFL in the superbowl, as if they were pussy cats compared to the rough and tough NFL. And we know the end - Jets beat highly favored Colts, and the next year K.C. beat the big bad Vikings. So much for the  AFL being soft.

agreed.  there was nothing soft about the AFL.  head slaps and clothesline hits were legal.    you had to be crazy to go over the middle.
