Gas2No99
Rich Cimini ESPN Staff Writer The Jets are planning to hire former Bears OLB coach Clint Hurtt for the same position, according to the Sporting News. Hurtt reportedly declined a contract extension with the Bears. Hurtt is credited with the development of first-round pick Leonard Floyd. It's a key position on Todd Bowles' staff because they have two young OLBs, Jordan Jenkins and Lorenzo Mauldin, who played for Hurtt at Louisville. He replaces Mark Collins, who was fired last week. #27TheDominator
Seems like a respected coach and a decent hire, but I wouldn't start counting the sacks because he tutored Willie Young to 14 sacks in 2 years at 3-4 OLB. The kid had 10 sacks the year before at 4-3 DE.

He said that he was annoyed with the Bucs defense, which was already very good, because while they got turnovers, they didn't turn them into points (i.e. scoop and scores and pick 6's.). They scored 5 total defensive TDs that year, including one in the NFC title game and one in the Super Bowl
#27TheDominator
FWIW, Fox kept the guy on and promoted him from Assistant DLine coach (under Pasqualoni/Tucker/Trestman). That is usually a good sign. I think he only took the low titled position because of his NCAA troubles.
rangerous
let's hope he can get through to these guys. none of the lb's could close off the end. the jets need coaches who can teach these guys bowles system, whatever that is.

It's the scheme that he used to win Defensive coach of the year 3 years ago . You need players and people who believe in what you're trying to do to make it work. He had that in Arizona so much so that their New DC kept the same scheme, same players with not the same results .
