JetNation
In a bit of a break from the norm, it seems Jets fans will have some legitimate reasons to tune in and watch Gang Green lose on Sunday when the Jets take on the Buffalo Bills. From rookie debuts, to rookie returns along with veteran debuts and veteran returns. Let’s take a look. Sam Darnold: is set to return after missing time with an injury to his throwing shoulder. The Jets have never won a game without Darnold under center since being drafted. Under Adam Gase, the Jets can’t even convert on third down whether it’s Luke Falk or Joe Flacco under center. With Darnold, Gase’s offense sometimes looks functional, a minor miracle in itself. Mekhi Becton: Becton was recklessly thrown out on the field to play with a shoulder injury several weeks ago and he hasn’t set foot on the field since then. With a healthy Becton, the offensive line is a completely different unit. Denzel Mims: The explosive rookie from Baylor finally steps on the field after spending the past few months on the shelf after pulling a hamstring in each leg. It’ll be hard to expect much from Mims who has never gone head-to-head with an NFL DB and will have quite a bit of rust to work off, but making a play here or there would help calm a fan base that’s alarmed by the lack of game action for the 2020 draft class. Josh Andrews: The 29-year-old Andrews makes his first career start after edging out Jonotthan Harrison out in training camp for his roster spot. Andrews will draw Ed Oliver who has been a huge disappointment this season (1 sack, 6 QB pressures) and will be looking to get on track against the inexperienced Andrews. Ty Johnson: It’s been a long time since the Jets had a running back with top end speed and as a guy who has been clocked at 4.4, Johnson brings that. If the blocking improves up front with Becton and Johnson gets some run, maybe we see a big play or two. Johnson picked up the longest run of the year for Jets running back last week when he picked up 34 yards on a run to the left side before giving way to Frank Gore to see just one carry the rest of the way. Bronx
I hope Darnold's audible are from this script.
Jet Nut
Slumping? They lost to the SB champs and to Tennessee. Playing two really good teams, both better than the Bills will do that to you.

Not the Jets players set to return, but the difference between slumping and losing multiple games in a row.
AFJF
It’d be nice if they don’t bench any players who offer a glimpse of playmaking ability. If Mims makes one or two plays, fans are gonna be excited. If Mims doesn’t make a play and Andrews gets blown up by a slumping Ed Oliver, it’s gonna be a bad look for Joe D. If theyre counting on the Bills being in a slump it should be discussed. Guess maybe being wrong is insulting to some. Nixhead
Looks to me that this Ty Johnson guy has some pop. Of course after his 34 yard run Gase only gives him 1 more carry - makes me wanna punch Gase right in the face 10 times - but I wanna see what TY can do against the Bills with Becton out there.
ljr
excited to finally see Darnold, Becton, & Mims on the field together not expecting much out of Mims yet ... but still will be nice to have him out there all 3 make it through with no injury and I'm happy regardless of everything else
