What a cautionary tale for prideful players "insulted" by multi-million dollar contract offers. The guy was well on his way to a HOF career. The Steelers may very well have won the SB the year he sat out. He turned down a big contract offer in a system that relied on his skillset with a HOF quality QB that loved to get him the ball to take less money to play for a terrible team, and his career ended with a whimper.

For a RB, Bell got a sh*t ton of $ between Pitt and the Jets. I think he's just one of those players who after they strike it rich, they have a hard time putting in the long hours of training. Even here, he said he was out of shape the first season. And now with the Jets millions padding his bank account, he's probably ALWAYS out of tip-top shape. That said. I'd bring him back on a low contract.

He was trending down his last year in Pittsburgh. He hasn’t rushed for over 4ypc since 2016. He was a fool to not take the money from Pittsburgh. At least there he could’ve run on fumes behind their OL and with Big Ben feeding him easy receptions. It was a terrible decision to bring him to the Jets. Don’t know if that was Mac or Woody, but either way it was dumb.
