NFL | HBO trying to keep show intact

Fri, 24 Mar 2006 06:31:03 -0800

Andrew Marchand, of the New York Post, reports in anticipation of finalizing its agreement with the NFL to continue broadcasting Inside the NFL, HBO has re-signed Cris Collinsworth, and is close to re-signing Bob Costas. It also is in talks with Dan Marino and Cris Carter, the show's other regulars. The cable network is hoping to re-sign Peter King as its information man, and could add a new correspondent, possibly Mary Carillo.

Only thind I saw worth a damn on that show was Carter visitng with Buddy Ryan discussing when Buddy Ryan cut him from the Eagles. No real dispute about the factsnor anger nor rancor- -Carter was bottoming out. A really good segment that made both a little uncomfortable, but time had healed the wounds.

Other than that, never really got the point. Though watching Bob Costas' hair turn various shades of...I dunno what color that is...like foliage, is kinda like an HBO Advent calendar. He called the St. Louis Spirit in the ABA; he's pushing 60. Just go freaking gray already and stop making believe you're still 32. The Tim Mccarver thing is damn unbecoming and vain.
