Here is why WR/TE will be Jets pick at #10

Recommended Posts

Nearly every Jets free agent signing, were “Win Now” players. Nearly all were 1 year deals

Tyron Smith, Mike Williams, Javon Kinlaw, Morgan Moses acquisition, etc. All veterans signed on prove it contracts, many with incentives for playing time.

We all know JD/Saleh have been given 1 year to turn it around or they are out.

Picking OL would be a young depth pick, for a player playing behind vets in 2024. Obviously if one of the vets get hurt, the guy would be useful. Otherwise, the player is for the future and JD/Saleh’s future is 2024 and possibly that’s it.

Trading up for Marvin Harrison Jr or staying at 10 and picking Bowers/Odunze/Nabers or trading back and picking Brian Thomas Jr, would give the Jets a Win Now weapon. Trading up and sending a 2025 pick to get MHJ is definitely a possibility. JD/Saleh don’t care about 2025. It’s all or nothing.

Not saying anything new, but I just think this offseason is proving one thing. They need to win this year. Every move is proving this. OT is not a win now pick.

Neither Tyron Smith nor Morgan Moses are under contract beyond 2024.  And they are both 33 years old.

The Jets still need an OT even if both starting tackles manage to stay healthy all year, a tall task for any Jets OL.

With the number of QBs and WRs being mocked in the top 10, there is going to be a blue chip OT prospect sitting there for them.  Absolutely nothing wrong with taking one.
