Beasley put one in the back of the net late in the game that was called back for keeper interference. If it counts, it would have been the FIRST goal in World Cup History scored with 9 men on the pitch. Furthermore, a win would have been our first World Cup win on European soil against a European team. Inches made the difference in this one. It was encouraging, however, to see the team play with passion in this match. Maybe now it will be ready to play to its full potential against Ghana. Landon Donovan seemed back to his old self, too.
