StillerPaul
This article is a few years old, but well worth bringing back up, IMO. And still holds true to this day. http://www.post-gazette.com/steelers/20020925centers0925yp8.asp Since Ray Mansfield became the starting center for the 1964 season -- a span of 39 (make that 43 ) years -- only four men have regularly occupied the position: Mansfield, Mike Webster, Dermontti Dawson, Jeff Hartings. Can you guys think of any other teams that have had this kind of luck/success at one particular position?

StillerPaul
..No mention of the 80's w/ the Grogans and Easons of the world... My 80's list is worse than that. My team has had probably the worst 5 QB's of that era. :Cuss:

There is something to be said from the owners Rooney's on down on the stability of the Steelers franchise- part of the reason IMO that they have been able to play at a high level for many years
RSJ
Since 1992, the Pats have only had 2 QB's. And in that same span only one WR worth mentioning (Terry Glenn).

Every small market franchise in pro sports, should be required to intern at 1 Steeler Way or whatever the F there offices are located. Belichick has not re-invented the wheel, he has his own tweaks, but not ove paying and having good depth has been a Steelers trademark long before the Patriots went dynastic. Mavrik
The Jets have only had 1 time management specialist in their history as a franchise, Dick Curl. That, my friends, is some kind of record.
