Usually the Charity donation for the Razor's Edge is

logged on Karen's site (patriotworld.com) and that is

sufficient. This week I felt it worthwhile to share

with more folks the astounding generosity of the folks

who comprise and visit the Tailgate. We are giving to

Tedy's Team for which 100% of all donations go to the

American Stroke Organization. While the regulars at

the tailgate put in fair amounts of effort and donated

supplies, we do that because we generally all have an

appreciation for hospitality and the friendship we

share at Tailgates. Many of the folks at the Tailgate

actually give a donation each week as well as their

efforts and we want the emphasis to always be on the

hospitality, we just choose to allow those who wish to

express appreciation to have an avenue we support.

This week at the Tailgate in which we battled the New York Jets in a playoff game we set a new record high for donations to the Charity bin. While our previous

record neared the $200 mark, this week with the many guests from New York and the many guests from New England we destroyed that record high. I cannot

express my shock and appreciation when the counted

funds total was given to me:

$437.82

We do this for every home game and that puts the

amount usually near $1000 which we give to charity

each year. Now that's an impressive amount when it is

for doing no more than we were doing before this.

Still the extra surge of donations for what had been a

lower season donation than usual was astounding and I

wanted to make certain the many fine folk who made

this happen understand how well it is appreciated.

It's all done anonymously through the bin which is as

I prefer and so the proper thanks may never reach the

folks but I'm hopeful this message will get

distributed enough to make certain the folks who

comprised that tailgate understand they were part of a

fine side benefit to a great football day.

Thank you to those and everyone who over the years has

made this tradition a success. We are incredibly

fortunate in the quality of folk with whom we hang our

helmets!
