Vancouver is not great for concerts, at least not for the ones I want to see. All the customs hassles, equipment searches, work visas, etc. bands have to put up with to play one show here, then go back south to resume their tour isn't worth it for many bands. Typically I travel to the Bay Area, that way I can catch a band I really like 2 or 3 nights in a row at different venues in the area. Nobody on the radar screen right now, but always searching. I worked parking for 2 days leading up to the festival, got a free ticket,and was paid 390 bucks. Too many good bands to see during the short timespan.
