Jetkid94
hmm either sign greer, or get a first round CB. but a first round CB would get about 7 million, so basically its a pick your posion.

Hardly. Last year, DRC was drafted 16th overall and his contract was 16 million for 6 years, with only 9 guaranteed. So a vontae davis, who probably won't be there, will be considerably less than Greer. Which is crazy, because Davis, although unproven, has everything you look for in a CB. Darrelle Revis at 14 didn't command anything close to $7 million. A CB at 17 would cost us about $3 mill per.

124
I thought revis got a 6 year, 36 million dollar contract? which is 6 million a year Revis' deal ended up being 4 years, $16-20 million because he reached the playing cause in his rookie season that knocked it down to a four year deal. Sperm Edwards
I thought revis got a 6 year, 36 million dollar contract? which is 6 million a year $15M of that is a maximum salary in year 6, and it's only if every single clause (some tied to the team & not just Revis by himself) is reached. The 6 year/$36M was a Tannenbaum invention. That was not the going rate. Adam Carriker was taken one pick AHEAD of Revis, and his rookie contract was for 5 years/$12.8M. Levi Brown was the 5th pick in the draft and his maximum deal is 6 years/$37.5M with Arizona. It was not one of Tannenbaum's best moments. It may prove to be worth it in year 6 of his contract if CB's at Revis' level are getting $20M/yr at that point. But all along the way he should have cost us very little and we're paying him like a veteran star instead. This is what I have for Revis in year 6 (2012): Voidable; Club may buyback w/ base salary guaranteed at $10.85m or $12.85m or $14.85m tied to "points" earned by player/team performance 07-2010; $150k w/o added w/buyback; $2m de-escalator tied to player's p/t
Thai Jet
I'd love for us to make a run at Dunta Robinson. Don't know if we'd have/want to spend the bucks.

Thai Jet
He's not available... except via trade. He got franchised. Thank JVR. Good move by the Texans. I wanted the Jets to draft him that year but he was gone by the time we picked.
