Jimmy 2 Times
I'd consider a horrible 1-15 season this year to get him. Maybe Bush or Mulroney drops to the second round and we can get them too.
RSJ
It is definitly time to rebuild and retool.
Jimmy 2 Times
How's his arm strength? It seems like every SC game I watch he's floating passes all over the field to wide open players. Anyone ever see him gun it in there?
stormshadow19
I'm not sure Matt Leinhert is the answer, actually. Especially when the Jets have so many other holes to fill, like the currently vacated left tackle spot. Getting some youth in the offensive line wouldn't be bad either. You can probably get a QB, while not as successful as Matt, but who has good physical gifts, later in the draft, say a Omar Jacobs. I guess it depends what people want to do. Would you want to see a rebuilding process, or just a retooling, which is totally possible with this roster. While there are holes, there is a ton of talent. The secondary holes can be filled with experience playing together. The defensive line is just one big (re: good) DT away from being a line that should dominate. I can't believe we're talking about this in September...

I just don't think the Jets can afford to take him, after having so much already wrapped up in the QB position. If you want to draft a QB, that's fine. I can go with that. Just not one that's going to cost 60 million dollars to sign.
afosomf
dude our D will win 5 games 5-11 will not garner #1 pick
stormshadow19
This defense isn't that good. This defense needs the offense to step up and make some plays, or it's going to be a real long season.
Barton
I..........cant..........breathe. gettin leinart would be nice, but he does not have a great arm either. better then penningtons for sure, but how much better? who gives a sh*t I am mad
RSJ
What about Vince Young or Marcus Vick? Also D Carr may be a FA. Although word is he likes being with his wife and playing golf more than practicing. I believe you may be able to reclimate Ramsey's career. stormshadow19
Can't go wrong with a MAC QB. Got beat by one today. Everyone's real high on Omar Jacobs. I'm sure Rigs could tell you a ton about him. I can't believe we're doing this in bloody SEPTEMBER!
Jimmy 2 Times
The top pick next season can be turned into 2 number 1's and a few other top picks. Teams are going to want Leinart bad. We could probably trade down to the 5 spot or so also getting a number 2, a solid vet, and a number 1 from the 07 draft. We then use the number 5 pick on Bush, trade the 07 number 1 for Rivers or Brees, and draft oline and DT help the rest of the way. Jets Rebuilt. Or we could just take Leinart and be set for a decade. Jetlag
My wet dream: 1) QB Matt Leinhart 2) RB Brian Calhoun/ Deangelo Williams 3) C Greg Eslinger (I can dream can't I?)

I like that plan... mostly because with more bullets in the gun, the more times you have to shoot. That and the first pick is going to command so much money, it's just not good for the Jets to lock up that much money in someone else who could be a bust. They already have one bust at QB, why draft another potential bust and have all your eggs wrapped up in the QB position?
nj meadowlands
Leinart is a product of the system If Fiedler can play we might have a chance. And by a chance I mean having a 2002 type season.. where we get hot late Otherwise it's 6-
