AFJF
Perfect #2 hitter IMO, just has so many issues with his health that it's a bit concerning. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AlVu0P3ymnVB70wslOd8ojcRvLYF?slug=tsn-yankeescouldbringbac&prov=tsn&type=lgns
JonEJet
Buster_ESPN If Johnson passes physical,NYY will move on to next targets -- definitely a starting pitcher, and quite possibly Mark DeRosa, if $ are right 4 minutes ago from web
Barton
gotta love nick johnson. But I wouldnt hit him 2nd. Maybe 5 or 6. I still want Damon back for a couple years.
Vudu
Boras needs to understand that JD is 36. He needs to come down off the $. I want Damon back as well, but not for the price.
JetNation
Nick Johnson is returning to the Yankees, a move that likely will end Johnny Damon's time in New York after four seasons. More...

Bugg
Rumor is they're going after Mark Derosa too. Same idea(although Derosa can field several positions)-decent average, some power, decent OBP. Put them in the Yankee lineup and watch their numbers go up. Derosa is also A Bergen Catholic fellow, so NY won't be a big deal to him. Suspect lefty Johnson in Yankee Stadium witll have great power numbers. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/d/derosma01.shtml
faba
Johnson is a line drive hitter not a pull hitter- Matsui was the most clutch hitter for the Yanks the last 3 or 4 years-they will miss that clutchness.

faba
I don't like this at all. For about 750,000 more this year keep Matsui your best clutch hitter -to me it does not make sense. johnson can only play first which he will not play
Vudu
Damon is greedy. Let him go elsewhere.

Johnson on disabled list 9 times in his career- faba, ur my broski but cmon. Matsui had his knee drained every other month in 2009 and all he did was DH. He had a great world series and before that nobody wanted him back in 2010. Wish him well in Anaheim but it was time to move on.

Proven hitter in tough situations that accepts his role - those are hard to find. many players can not do it in New York-he was able to.
