SenorGato
CC Sabathia was been (arguably) the best pitcher in baseball the past 2-3 years. He should pass the 150 win mark fairly easily this year as he's at 138. He's just entering his prime as a pitcher. He puts up very, very strong peripheral stats, and has been a workhorse his whole career. Another thing I've noticed is that since signing with the Yankees Sabathia has gotten himself into better shape. Obviously he's not svelte, but the guy would really let himself go at times in Cleveland. Can he win 300 games? How good will he be over the course of the next 6 years (including 2010) while under contract will the Yankees?
CrazyCarl40
Seems like there is a lot of miles on that arm and there will continue to be more put on it. He's a great pitcher no doubt, but will he wear down? He's not in the greatest of shapes and that could add to the wear down. How old is he any way? THE ILK
I don't know, last year all sux fans could tell me was how he was a garbage playoff pitcher. How'd that work out?

Before last season he wasn't good in the playoffs. Even after a pretty good 2009 postseason, his career playoff ERA is over 4.

I wouldn't exaclty call David Wells a body at the beach, but he sure could pitch.
Otter
CC will turn 30 this year. Like Wells, he seems to have something of a rubber arm. Still, it will be difficult for him to get to 300 wins. That milestone is probably a thing of the past.
SenorGato
Anyone else think he's well on his way to the HOF?
CrazyCarl40
Anyone else think he's well on his way to the HOF? If he gets another CY and another ring or two, I don't see why not. That's easier said than done though.
Maxman
He is going to retire with 5 or so World Series Championships. Sure it will look small next to Jeter's 9 or 10. But it is HOF worthy.

Knowing the Yankees history (27 titles)...I would think it's easier done then said...now, if we were talking Red Sox...

I don't think the Yankees will ever trade those players.

I was actually talking about the Cy Young Awards being easier said than done. But since you broguht it up: 1 title in the last 9 years, so he'd get one more of those. SenorGato
The Yankees will probably win a series or two even during this 7 year contract. CC's a horse. I think he's going to be awesome in his 30s if he doesn't let his weight get out of control (he won't).
