Crown of the helmet moron. Hitting with the crown of the helmet is illegal. Period. End of story.

the head contact thing is in reference to linemen i believe....who are allowed to make head contact due to the nature of their position. oh and ask him to ahow the other angle which clearly shows polite leading with the crown of his helmet directly into the jaw area of scotts helmet.

Sanchez got hit 4 seconds after handing the ball off in a playoff game. Referees often miss things.

Guy's you're misinterpreting the rules in this case. One is a personal foul penalty used to protect defenseless players. The other and appropriate rule to apply is that of what offensive players can and can not do to execute a block. The rule does not single out Offensive linemen. It clearly applies to all offensive players.

Also can any of you tell me of a single instance where helmet on helmet was called during a game as it pertains to blocking at the LOS? You can't because its 'Legal'.

This would funny if it wasn't so pathetically sad.

No man it's freaking hilarious! Because you can't grasp the fact that the rules committee put in a specific rule just for cases like this that clearly states that a blocker can indeed make contact with his head. Your ignorance is priceless man.... Truly Priceless!

Legal Block

by Offensive

Player

An offensive player is permitted to block an opponent by contacting him with his head, shoulders, hands, and/or outer surface of the forearm, or with any other part of his body. A blocker may use his arms, or open or closed hands, to contact an opponent on or outside the opponent’s frame (the body of an opponent below the neck that is presented to the blocker). If a blocker’s arms or hands are outside an opponent’s frame, it is a foul if the blocker materially restricts him. The blocker immediately must work to bring his hands inside the opponent’s frame, and as the play develops, the blocker is permitted to work for and maintain his position against an opponent, provided that he does not illegally clip or illegally push from behind.
