CrazyCarl40
Several reports out there saying yes. I doubt it. The Sox put the claim in to block him from going to Tampa or NY. I doubt he waives his no trade to Boston.

THE ILK
Where would the Yankees play him? DH, and what have Posada catch every game? We have better out fielders than him so...

Same thing he would do last season. DH sometimes. Outfield sometimes. It's not like Berkman or Kearns are setting the world on fire.

No but we don't need him in the out field, and the DH spot has been used to give guys days off in the field, and Posada is going to need it more now too. Damon is a game winner, but it's not like the Yanks desperately need him. The sox wanted him back, it was not just a block move. He turned them down. With Cameron and Ellsbury done for the year and Drew always a blade of grass away from an injury, the Sox were looking for more outfield help. If he accepted, great; if he didn't, then at least he won't go to the Yankees or more importantly, the Rays.

I was actually more surprised that he turned them down than anything else. I guess they really rubbed him the wrong way, when they let him go.
