they're just not a championship team

eithe rthe defense plays like sh*t or the offense plays like sh*t. they are spectacularly mediocre. rex's in game adjustments are for sh*t to boot. they'll probably make the pplay-offs but they won't be able to go on the road and beat 3 good teams in a row. how did the defense go from what it was last year to what it is this year? last year 8 passing td's allowed. i think it's like 26 this year. not enough heart.

we don't suck. we're just not championship caliber. and i blame rex 100%. he has no answers for what teams do to the jets.

Maybe he should actually TRY to find an answer instead of searching for dudes to "give it to his wife in all three holes" and jacking off to foot porn.

loosing to an 11-4 team on the road by 4 points is not terrible. Yeah, this was a game the Jets could have won but still all they need to do is sneak into the playoffs and they have a chance.

didn't say they were terrible. said they aren't a championship team. and they are not. the defense is so far behind what it was last year. the offense is a little better than it was last year but is woefully inconsistent. rex ryan can't make an in-game adjustment to save his life. not only that but the league has caught on to his vaunted  "exotic blitz packages" and he hasn't made any adjustments there either. we are terrible at pass rushing and even worse at forcing turnovers. it's surprising how mediocre this defense has really been.

The Bears are not that much better than us. No team is so much better than us. Just get into the playoffs...that's all that matters.

We're about to. Gerrard just threw the lmost LOFTY interception on his own 20!

Exactly.

Best teams in the league?

AFC: Pats - beat them, Ravens - were squeaked by them, Steelers - beat them

NFC: Falcons - DNP, Saints - DNP, Eagles - DNP, Green Bay - squeaked by them, Chicago - squeaked by them

In all honesty, only the Pats and Falcons should be definitively favored against them.

The Jets have only 2 wins against .500+ teams all year. That is pathetic. One of those teams blew them out on the re-match. The other team almost won without their best defensive player, and would probably win in a re-match.

Problem with the playoffs is you face .500+ teams only, and they will all be on the road as well. Not that being home helps, as the Jets just finished losing to the Fins a few weeks ago at home.

What do you means squeaked by means those teams can't be favored? Does that mean the Jets are not favored against all the under .500 teams the Jets squeaked by this year?

I find it hard to stomach the crap you guys post on a Sunday afternoon after a game. Even in victories you say some of the most asinine sh*t. The Bears are a good team. This JETS team is good enough to get into the playoffs but not do a whole lot.

Think about it..... Who are the only players missing from last years defense that could cause such a problem?

Our safeties, and yes, I include KERRY FUKIN RHODES in this. Cro is an upgrade from Lito and Leonard isn't good in coverage.

Good news is that no other team in the league is a "championship team".. besides maybe the pats

we have a shot

Definitively. The games were basically toss ups. They wouldn't be definitive favorites over the Steelers. The Jets lost 1 game they shouldn't have won. ONE. Don't act like they can't go on a run. The Pats are the only team that put them away. You think they can't go on a run? Then who the **** can?

true but 4 of them won't have to win 3 road games to get there. gonna be tough. this defense isn't playing like it did last year. and i dont think sanchez is ready to go win 3 road shootouts. hey i hope they prove me wrong....but i'm not betting on it.

I wouldn't bet on it either, but the fact is that the league is filled with mediocre teams with gaudy records this year, us included

They can but it is unlikely. They are not coached well enough to, they shoot themselves in the foot.

The Eagles, Falcons, Saints and Packers can all easily go on runs. The AFC is a lot weaker this year, outside of the Pats there aren't really any very good teams. The Ravens and Steelers aren't much better than the Jets, so the Jets can definitely go on a run if they get very lucky. But you'd have to favor both those teams.

If the Colts make it, the Jets lose to them. If the Raiders make it...the Jets probably lose to the Raiders but can beat them. You just have to, objectively, put the Jets on a lower tier than the Pats and the first 4 teams I mentioned.

Objectively I think you are nuts.

The Jets have to be underdogs to the Steelers? Why? The Raiders? Get bent. They will twist the Raiders into pretzels. Chiefs too. IMO the AFC is stronger than the NFC. Baltimore kicked the crap out of NO. The Steelers lost to the Saints, but beat the Falcons. Packers lost to the Pats and 'phins and barely beat the Jets. Philadelphia was absolutely bitchslapped by the Titans. The Pats are the class of the league, but I don't care why we lost, other than the Pats we haven't been smacked around like 37-19 against the Eagles. They didn't shoot themselves in the foot, they blew their whole ******* leg off.

Really? Bringing up 6 week old posts? Really?

At the time that was a fair statement. The Packers were not a lock for the playoffs and were injury ravaged. They had a magical run much like the Giants did when the Pats went 18-1. That is why you play the games. The Packers will be a force for years to come and they have undeniable talent at key positions. At the time the statements were made they were a borderline playoff team.

As long as you're bumping this thread, why not bump this post?

Oh and at that point in time the Pack had to beat playoff hopeful Giants and a playoff team in the Bears to make the playoffs. Bumping this is asinine.

It shows how I can see when a team is championship material before it's obvious to the rest of you. I'm just one step ahead :P

Sure, the Jets lost to the Steelers in the re-match. Don't see what's wrong with my post. Jets were also underdogs in every single game.

You don't see anything wrong? Not even a little something? The Jets were underdogs? Don't you think Vegas wishes they didn't **** that up? Since you love favorites so much, the Packers were a whopping 2.5 over the Steelers. I never said the Packers were no good. I said I thought the AFC was stronger. I'm not even sure I was wrong, but I'll eat crow there if it makes you feel better. I actually took the Pack in the game for what it's worth. You seemed to think the Raiders, Chiefs and Colts would all make it to the second round and still don't see what's wrong with your post.

Slapdick fanbase.

Jets are winning the Super Bowl.

jets proved this thread right imo. they cameinto the championship game and didn't even compete at all in the first half. thney came out with absolutely no sense of urgency and got manhandled. sure they made it a game in the 2nd half. but in the end couldn get a key stop to give the offense one more chance. are they a goo dteam? yep. but they aren't a championship team so far. championship teams don't have first half performances in the afc championship game like the jets had. it was disgraceful. if anything is slapdick it was the jets first half play in that game. and their first quarter play all ******* season long.

Of course they aren't a championship team. They didn't win the championship. To act like they couldn't is silly when they lost to a team they had already beaten in that building a month earlier. The biggest problem they had was the Pats booting them to wild card. It's that much harder to go on a run when you have to play the extra game. Of course that is possible too, the Pack did it. Do you think the Green Bay fan base was sure they were a championship team with losses to the Pats, Dolphins, Lions, Bears, Redskins and Falcons and going 3-3 over their last 6?

Uhhh yeah... they didn't win a championship. So like the previous poster said, obv. they weren't a championship team. How their performance, beating two hall of fame QBs back to back on the road is not impressive is beyond me. And, you could just as well say it about the Steelers... the Jets made halftime adjustments that worked, and the Steelers were no shows for the second half. Did they score a single point in the 2nd half? I don't think so.

listen....my point is that a team that can win a championship doesn't have a half like that against an opponent in the championship game. they just flat out got dominated....and looked like boys among men out there. this years team most def can not win a championship. i know it's hard to go on a 3 game run on the road and win it. but they were completely outclassed that whole first half. it was embarrassing how bad they actually were.
