PFT: Jets Permission For Revis to Visit Bucs

He can fail it now and pass it later.  Every NFL team is not oblivious to this.  Failing a physical because it was taken too early doesn't mean no one is interested.  And if they were, they'd have been in the running with Tampa and we'd all know about it the same way we all knew about Tampa.

And again, there is no way on earth he takes a physical for Tampa, fails it, and it's kept secret.  Tampa is not going to owe us the favor of lying for us.

And it doesn't matter anyway because (a) he's not failing a physical, and (b) no one other than Tampa wanted to trade for him.  No one else was interested in giving up a 1st round pick and then also paying him like Mario Williams on top of that.  Tampa was interested and no one else was.

You are all over the place. That's why i said a NDA takes care of the fact they cannot disclose anything.

Now its a moot point. He is signed.

NDA wouldn't have prevented others who knew about it.  You can't keep a lid on him visiting Tampa and failing a physical that the Jets knew in advance he wasn't going to fail.

We got the highest offer any NFL team was willing to give up.  If Revis was willing to take $12M/year he'd have yielded more or we'd have just re-signed him.  That is not the case, though.

Still there is no denying that today even anyone's grandmother looking at this trade can say "The JETS got the better of this trade"

The Bucs made out like gangbusters!

Only if you consider one CB worth this year's #1 plus the money it would take to get two Antonio Cromarties.

Both teams got what they wanted.  Jets' alternative was getting less (or nothing like Carolina and Houston got).  We weren't letting a CB hit the cap annually at $19M per year, and pass up on Tampa's 1st rounder for the privilege.

why?? 16M yr for acl CB..2 options here for tampa now .. 1) he doesnt recover fully and bucs blew draft picks,, 2) he recovers, plays great, bucs overpay in year 1/2 and after year 2 revis holds out again, like he always has and holds Bucs hostage..hell we may get him back then, LOL

Wouldn't that be something.   Revis is a bit stiff in the knee this season.  Just plays as an average CB.  Bucs finish 3rd (very possible)  swallow their pride, and cut Revis.

Jets sign him 5 years 40 million.  Revis returns to form

Of couse it would only be a 2 year contract as he will hold out again.

BTW the Revis presser is going to be on the NFL chan. in 2 mins
