Sperm Edwards Posted May 3, 2013 Share Posted May 3, 2013 I'm pretty sure that was just propaganda. He wasn't bad for a 3rd. Except he wasn't a 3rd. He was a 3rd + a 4th + a 7th. That said, the actual round 1 RBs were Knowshon Moreno, Beanie Wells, & Donald Brown. While not as good as 2nd rounder McCoy, Greene has badly outplayed all 3 first round RBs (and every RB taken after him that year). But '09 was kind of a sucky draft after the top 50 anyway (McCoy & Wallace being the 2 most obvious exceptions). Kind of sucks that Wallace was taken 2 picks after our original spot in round 3. You want to look at a disaster after actual round 1? NE got 1.5 starters (Vollmer & Chung) to show for 4 picks in round 2, 2 picks in round 3, a pick in rounds 4 and 5, and 2 picks in round 6. Edelman solid for a 7th rounder but 1.5 starters for the 10 players selected ahead of him is embarrassing. Now consider all the knob-polishing every commentator gave them during the draft (e.g. Prisco: "Bill Belichick gets it."). Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
