JetNation
Geno Smith injured his ankle during the 3rd quarter of the Jets preseason game against the Detroit Lions. The injury occurred as Geno scrambled for a short gain. He walked off the field with a limp and the trainers taped his right ankle on the sideline. Greg McElroy took over at QB and later in the 3rd quarter Geno Smith went into the locker room. He walked off the field on his own and we will have more updates on this injury as information is released. Geno Smith was 6/7 passing for 47 yards on the game, with a 94.6 QB Rating. You can read more about the Jets and Geno Smith in our NY Jets message board. Update 11:32pm: Here is some encouraging news from Brian Costello: Geno says they did x-ray the ankle and it was fine #NYJ — Brian Costello (@BrianCoz) August 10, 2013 Follow Me: View the full article

BurnleyJet
Phew, I know the Q.B competition is a bit of a sham, but glad Geno is OK. They are falling like flies out there.
SenorGato
Playing football can't be fun for anyone but crazy people. There's no way you're not feeling horrendous after even a few plays, and almost no shot at missing out on a rolled ankle or some other dumb injury during a game. Newark
Hope he is not hurt but I have said it's best he sit and watch the speed of the game and let Sanchez completely blow up so we can continue the next phase of the rebuild. Hoping the 2nd phase at least glances the offense way. Need QB,WR,RB and OL - outside of that everything is peachy. GO JETS!!!

We like to keep similar conversations in the same thread. Thanks.
