This according to a league source. They're also working out former Buffalo Bills cornerback Brandon Smith. Sanford is a former Vikings seventh-round draft pick from Ole Miss. Sanford started for the Vikings and recorded a career-high 75 tackles in 2013. He signed a two-year, $5 million contract with the Vikings in 2013. He was placed on Short Term IR, which basically means he was hurt, and couldn't reach an injury settlement with the Vikes, and can not return to them.
