i find the whole folding for darnold scenario to be more than a little interesting.  imho is a foolish way for the team to be built.  look at the colts.  they had like one really good season after sucking for luck but not much else.  and luck is a really good qb.  but maybe more importantly is who was the last usc qb to come out and light things up?  sanchez? palmer? leinart? mike rae? pat haden? the point is usc really hasn't turned out great qb's.  i remember leinart being just about the greatest thing since sliced bread and he even stayed for his senior year when he could've been a top 5 pick as a junior.  where is he now? hard to say if there is one school that puts out a particularly good qb product but usc just seems to put out some pretty boys.
