Jack Straw
He averaged a whopping 18.7 yards per catch for his career (The highest I have ever seen). James Lofton, who many people consider the best, averaged 18.3 YPC. I never saw Maynard play (I'm only 21 years old). Was he the greatest? Does somebody have a scouting report on him? Jack Straw
Hey TX, where are you getting these numbers from? My roomate swears James Lofton has the highest career YPC of all time, despite me showing him Maynard's numbers.
PFSIKH
No. Numbers are too subjective to base a judgement like that.

JetCane
That's some site- good link Tx. Lofton had some incredible numbers. Maynard and Irvin had similar yardage, but Irvin had 100 more recepts. Monk has HOF numbers. He is getting the shaft. edit: Andre Reed had some spectacular numbers, too.
