It would have been nice if he found his way back here somehow, but it just wasn't in the cards, especially after the way the draft unfolded.

Strev played like a backup fullback who was told by the coach I need you to play qb because the 3 quarterbacks on the roster all got hurt in addition to the emergency qb who is a punter

I checked the stats for last night's final exhibition game for Winnipeg and there were no stats for Strev. Not sure the reason why if injured or just not playing.

I just checked and Strev is still on the Winnipeg roster. But this is cut down time in the CFL reg season starts next week. I'm also following to see if Jack Coan makes Sask. but looks like he either will get cut or put on PS. Or maybe traded to another team. There are 3 Qbs ahead of him on their depth chart. Unless one or two of them are traded.

At least for now it looks like Jack Coan made the RRs. They cut 2 QBs today have 3 on roster Trevor Harris named starter either Patterson or Coan the backup prob Patterson. This can change. No listing of Winnepeg cuts today yet.

Looks like Strev made their active roster. Winnipeg is carrying 3 QBs which seems to be the standard in the CFL. I think Collaros is the starter.

Yes Collaros is the starter but he also has a big injury history.  Many CFL teams have a taysom hill type #3 qb who they use to run or short yardage.

Collaros is one of the best players in the league. Unless he gets hurt, Strev has no shot at starting in Winnipeg.

Jack Coan is a developmental project in Sask. Barring a few injuries, he probably won't see the field this year

He was starter for San Antonio in XFL last season. I'm following him since from LI.

So have I. He grew up in the next town over from where I live. My nephew played high school ball against his younger brother.

As for Saskatchewan, their starter is a long time CFL vet with Grey Cup experience. He's older and coming off a nasty knee injury, but if healthy he's pretty good. They're also paying him well (by CFL standards). If his knee holds up, Coan won't play this year.

Looks like Coan is third string after Patterson. Who played more than Coan in preseason and played well. He's bounced around the CFL and played in USFL in 2022. I watched Coan with SA last year and thought he was ok nothing special.

He struggled early on, but improved over time. I think San Antonio has a completely different coaching staff from last year, so they went in another direction at QB.

He's supposedly looked good in the preseason for Saskatchewan. The kid has arm talent, which is a really big deal in the CFL since the fields are much larger.

So on opening night a repeat match up of last year's Grey Cup Montreal won 27-12. Strev got into the game as Qb in as expected short yardage sits. No pass attempts he rushed 7 times for 32 his longest run was for 12.

For Strev fans who love his energy there was a play he ran and was hit hard on and had a limp. He went on the sidelines and was fired up and the commentators said he wanted to go back in even though banged up. He did go in later and had a nice 12 yard carry on one play. Most of his carries (7) were a yard or two some not all got first downs. Remember only 3 downs in CFL.

Strev is Winnipeg's backup to Zach Collaros but they're using him as a run Qb all of his plays short runs until tonight. He threw his first pass for 6 yards and a first down vs Calgary. I think Collaros was injured and CFL rules mandate the injured player sits out 3 plays. Game right now on CBSSN.

If you wanted to see Strev play this was the game. He replaced Collaros who was injured and played much of the game including the entire second half. He brought the team back to tie it in the last minute of regulation time with a very nice 16 yard pass in the end zone for a TD. The Bombers who are now 0-4 lost in OT 22-19 via a 52 yard FG. But that was following a pick on Strev after a pass in the end zone intercepted by Calgary to give them possession. Not a good throw there was a big pass rush on Strev his receiver also slipped and fell in the end zone. So Strev was 14-24-170, longest pass was for 21 yards, 1 TD, 1 pick. His passing was generally ok. He rushed 6-27 no TDS. Btw the place kickers in CFL are pretty good Sergio Castillo who once played for the NYJ had a 60 yarder.

Yup thats me. I created all the characters for the store "lore" and they are all of my friend group that helped get it off the ground. We are creating merchandise centered around the various characters. Trading cards, a board game (written by the gent that wrote the Betrayal at House on the Hill board game). 

We teach D&D to kids and newbies, themed nights, etc etc. 

Lots of wheels turning lol

He could start this week. Winnipeg has been hit badly with injuries this season. Their two best receivers are both out for extended periods of time (one's out for the year), their stud RB is banged up, and now Collaros is hurt. And that's just the offense. Just a brutal start for them.

And yes, the league has some excellent kickers. I'm surprised a few of them aren't in the NFL, to be honest.

The bad news is that my Edmonton Elks are once again a dismal 0-4 so far this year, the good news is that both Hamilton and Winnipeg are also both 0-4.

The Elks have lost their last 3 games all by 3 points, I swear they are the stupidest team alive.  They just toss game after game after game away by simple stupidity (penalties at crucial times, turnovers, coaching errors, dropped passes)
