I think Joe should have said, "This loss is crushing. We will not bounce back from this. Stick a fork in us."

My own opinion is Torre will never get the credit because the Yankees will put a all-star cast at his disposal- sort of like Phil Jackson in basketball is viewed.

Like practically all managers in the game- give him the talent he will win- like with the Yanks

Give him the Mets and the talent he had to work with then and he will lose- simplified by myself

Anyone should be able to win with the cast they have now, agreed.

This wasn't the case. 1996 was an amazing year, the Braves were better. 1998 the man did not make a mistake all year. Same for 1999.

In 2000 they did not have the most talented team but they won it all again.

For that he gets an eternal pass from me.
