Jetsfan80
getting the thread back on track.... I just did a mock draft, and I'm glad I did because I didn't think my team ended up too great (10th pick, 14 teams, round # in perentheses): QB: Tom Brady (2), Eli Manning (8) RB: Brandon Jacobs (1), Reggie Bush (3), Derrick Ward (7), Tim Hightower (11), Leon Washington (13) WR: Hines Ward (4), Jerricho Cotchery (5), Michael Crabtree (6), Muhsin Muhammad (9), Michael Jenkins (10) TE: Kevin Boss (12) K: Robbie Gould (14) DEF: San Francisco (15) Some trends I noticed: 1) If you don't have the # 1 pick, expect Adrian Peterson to be gone by yours. Period. 2) RB's go EXTREMELY fast. Unless you get an elite one, you'll be reaching. I took Bush about 3-4 rounds too early as my # 2 RB. 3) QB's do NOT go quickly, so take your time. Apparently, Yahoo (and probably any other fantasy site) has serious question marks with all the top QB's. 4) Wait on taking a TE. Guys like Heath Miller, Tony Scheffler, Kevin Boss and Anthony Fasano, though not ideal choices, can be found late in the draft. I'm talking round 11, 150 picks into the draft late. 5) Wait on taking kicker and DEF. K's simply aren't taken until they have to be, and while there is a run on defenses in the middle of the draft, none are worth taking too early; you never know which defenses will truly end up elite. If you want the Jets, however, don't wait too long; they are usually taken within the first 10-11 rounds.

My draft and yours is similar. my second draft was a complete disaster even though I picked #2. My first draft ( I picked 8th): 1. Tom Brady (NE - QB) 2. Steve Smith (Car - WR) 3. Chad Ochocinco (Cin - WR) 4. Thomas Jones (NYJ - RB) 5. Knowshon Moreno (Den - RB) 6. Eli Manning (NYG - QB) 7. Dustin Keller (NYJ - TE) 8. New York (NYJ - DEF) 9. Nick Folk (Dal - K) 10. Its just awful, no way I beat any of you guys with this team: 1. Tom Brady (NE - QB) 2. Ryan Grant (GB - RB) 3. Wes Welker (NE - WR) 4. Jonathan Stewart (Car - RB) 5. Santonio Holmes (Pit - WR) 6. Joey Galloway (NE - WR) 7. Kellen Winslow (TB - TE) 8. Mark Sanchez (NYJ - QB) 9. LeSean McCoy (Phi - RB) 10. Nick Folk (Dal - K) 11. Miles Austin (Dal - WR) 12. Ray Rice (Bal - RB) 13. Jetsfan80
*Hangs head in shame* He's a fantasy beast, much to my chagrin. Piece of advice; don't take him in the 1st round. I just did another mock draft, and both Brady AND Manning, for the second time in a row on Yahoo, were available late in the 2nd round (about 25 picks in). Brees has been getting picked first. Theoretically, if you had the # 1 pick, you COULD end up with Adrian Peterson AND either Brady or Manning, in a league with as many as 14 teams. Backup plan? Kurt Warner or Phillip Rivers early in the 3rd round. Just food for thought.

MDL_JET
I gave it a try. RB's go fast as hell. Then WR's. Westbrook stuck around for a long time, so did Lendale White. 1. Steven Jackson (StL - RB) 2. Clinton Portis (Was - RB) 3. Terrell Owens (Buf - WR) 4. Antonio Bryant (TB - WR) 5. Jay Cutler (Chi - QB) 6. Jerricho Cotchery (NYJ - WR) 7. Pittsburgh (Pit - DEF) 8. Le'Ron McClain (Bal - RB) 9. Irish Jet
I had a draft yesterday that was going pretty good, I quit around the end as no-one else kept going. I ended up with something like this (Picking #1) - Like DLJ I was all over Keller and the Jets defense. QB: Jay Cutler RB: Adrian Peterson RB: Chris Wells WR: Roddy White WR: Chad Ochocinco WR: Terrell Ownens TE: Dustin Keller K: Nate Kaeding DEF: NYJ My bench had Leon Washington on it, that's basically all I can remember. Gonna' try a few more.

I know you guys are serious about Fantasy, I only started playing last year but I got addicted to it, so I have to do well playing with you big boys! JETS defense is gonna be sick this year and Keller is due for a break out year. it's only common sense to use em in F!
Jetsfan80
If you're the #1 pick, you're almost guarenteed to have a sick draft. Check out what I ended up with (14 teams, round # in perentheses): QB: Kurt Warner (3), Eli Manning (10) RB: Adrian Peterson (1), Willie Parker (6), Tim Hightower (11), Leon Washington (12) WR: Anquan Boldin (2), Santonio Holmes (4), Lee Evans (5), Antwaan Randle El (14), Kenny Britt (15) TE: Dustin Keller (8) K: Jason Elam (13) DEF: Steelers (7), Jets (9) Pick # OVERALL 1. Peterson 28. Boldin 29. Warner 56. Holmes 57. Evans 84. Parker 85. Steelers 112. Keller 113. Jets 140. Manning 141. Hightower 168. Washington 169. Elam 196. Randle El 197. Britt Keller probably should have been picked before the end of the 8th round, but somehow he fell there. I don't think I would have been so lucky in another scenario. My only regret was not going for depth at WR earlier. I probably should have drafted a WR in the 7th round instead of taking Steelers D, but I had no idea the Jets would still be available in the 9th round. In any case, this was the best of the 3 I've done, although I feel like I got a bit lucky, and that this won't happen in real life. One guy in there drafted Matthew Stafford and Lions D WAY too early.
