operaguy
Gurus I was quite hopeful that one or more of you would be willing to divulge their views as to QB prospects in the upcoming draft that are not conventionally considered first round round prospects (e.g. Mariota, Winston, Bryce). Last year Garrapolo (sp?) went in the second or third round I believe and has seemed impressive in playing time. Are there any potential senior prospects like him this year? Thank you in advance for any time you spend articulating your views on the matter.

Lith
Garrett Grayson out of Colorado State is a guy that might be worth watching. From Walter Football: Garrett Grayson, QB, Colorado State The sleeper quarterback prospect for the 2015 NFL Draft could be Grayson. WalterFootball.com knows at least one NFL general manager who loves Grayson and thinks he's going to have a big rise in the lead up to the 2015 NFL Draft. Grayson gave evidence for that with the most efficient passing game of the season by any quarterback in college football. He completed 18-of-21 passes for 390 yards with five touchdowns against Wyoming. In 2014, Grayson has completed 65 percent of his passes for 2,456 yards with 21 touchdowns and five interceptions. He may not have a rise like Blake Bortles did last year, but he could be the 2015 NFL Draft's version of Jimmy Garoppolo. Games like Grayson had against Wyoming will force people to take notice. win4ever
I think Hundley is another guy that is going to rise at the combine. He reminds me of EJ Manuel a lot, a guy that has potential, but also very inconsistent. I don't really trust our coaches to develop anyone, so I wouldn't bother with him. I think I have to go with a page from the Jags, and knock down next year's draft to 2 QBs. And if we don't get them, focus the picks elsewhere and wait for the next year. The jags had everything set up, but bortles has sucked. But I liked their idea of picking from top end guys, and not giving in the first year when there wasn't a stud. GangGreenDover
curious to see how Hogan does tonight in big game yea Kevin Hogan kinda nice too but I think good play calling is hiding him he kinda breaks down under pressure and he eyes his receivers but he is smooth

I like Sean Mannion personally, see him as a potential Drew Bledsoe if all goes well. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1737484/sean-mannion
Tony The Wiz
This QB class really is not a strong one. After Mariota and Cook and the drama and chance you going to take with Winston, there really isn't one QB that is consistent. I thought Carden out of East Carolina was maybe the next and than I saw inconsistencies. I probably have to go with the Baylor QB Bryce Petty. He has the most upside. Grayson is probably right after him but he hasn't played the same competition. Maybe some division 1aa team has a QB out there like Tony Romo. Their playoff will get started. Jack Straw
Halliday is really lacking in the arm strength department. His passes have very little rotation on them and there's a ton of float in his passes. He's not going to be able to fit balls into tight NFL windows. He's also a rail at 200lbs. Perhaps with a legit NFL training program he can get stronger, but at this point he's nothing more than a PS type developmental prospect. It's rare (Tom Brady type rare) that guys' arm strength increases significantly from college to pros, but not impossible I suppose. Not worth a draft pick. BroadwayJets
Garrett Grayson looks pretty damn good. Seems like he tends to stare down receivers but he really makes some great throws
Paradis
I've been beating the Brandon Bridge drum for some time... so there's him. I think you take him in the 3rd/4th and develop him as a "if works out, awesome. If not, oh well" kind of approach. I feel the same way with Grayson and Hundley. You can't draft either to the hopes of your team on... but you should always have one like this in the wings being developed. I don't feel good enough about either Mar or Win, so this the direction i'd rather see us go in. Develop the roster around the position, wait for the right fit. I don't disagree with the strategy, there's just so little I like about Hundley. I get the physical attributes and all that, I just don't ever see him developing into anything. I'm more or less saying - I think you get your money's worth by going in that kind of direction over putting yet ANOTHER high profile rookie QB under Center right away, with an exhausted fanbase.
