The New York Jets began OTAs (Organized Team Activities) this week and Muhammad Wilkerson is absent. This week on JetNation Radio we will talk about Wilkerson being a no-show. We will also look at the roster, after the free agency overhaul the Jets have different needs. They have added depth at linebacker and completely overhauled several other positions (CB & WR).

With the draft being less than a month away, we will look at what the Jets could do in the NFL Draft. From round one on to day two and three.

It looks like Mo is gonna be a butt over this contract extension. If it becomes like Revis I say trade him. Can't stand these guys that play these games against a new GM who has reached out to him and let him know that his situation will be addressed after the draft. Gotta take a man at his word and while Mo is completely within his rights to stay away, it shows an attitude that is unnecessary.

IMHO, I'm guessing Winston, Mariota (looks like either the Chargers or Eagles are gonna trade up to get him), Dante Fowler, Leonard Williams (DE is the sexiest position after QB), and Amari Cooper will go in the first five picks (I'm no expert, so feel free to disagree).

While a franchise QB is probably most peoples' choice for the Jets at #6, a lot of talent will still be there at 6. Kevin White would be an excellent receiving weapon. Vic Beasley (Clemson) would go along way towards solving the Jets OLB needs. Also, I know a tackle isn't the sexiest pick at #1, but Brandon Scherf (Iowa) or or DJ Humphries (Fla) would be great picks, especially if Carpenter doesn't work out.

Thoughts?

I reall do not understand why people are even thinking about trading Wilk. First and foremost, he is an absolute beast. He has never complained about his contract and has always performed better than what he should get paid. Why should we trade a player that can play multiple positions on the DL for an unknown commodity? If the issue here is the new contract, let's keep drafting the Dee Milliner's and the Kyle Wilson's of the world.

He's a cornerstone on this team.
