Scott Dierking
Speaking Tuesday, Jets OC John Morton said he's planning to use a backfield-by-committee in 2017. Morton said it will vary week to week whether Bilal Powell or Matt Forte takes the lead. Morton is mostly just confirming the obvious, but it's our strong suspicion that Powell will lead in touches more often than not. He was the far more dynamic player in 2016, making plays on all three downs. Now 31, Forte has lost a step or three. It could be a frustrating situation, but Powell is definitely the preferred own. Source: Rich Cimini on Twitter Jets OC John Morton said each quarterback will get equal reps with the first-team during OTAs. That was not the case on the first day of OTAs when Christian Hackenberg worked exclusively on the second field with Josh McCown working with the first-team and Bryce Petty switching between the two. Hackenberg will certainly get his chance at some point, however, and Morton said all three have a "great opportunity." jetrider
This is why you don't carry too many QBs. Imagine if Jets did what certain maroons on this board wanted - to "use every pick on a QB until we find one"? It would cripple not only each QB's development but the rest of the team's as well. MaxAF
The coaches are dedicated to one thing and one thing only.....winning. The best QB will be starting. Just hope it's not McCown.
ljr
Good "Coachspeak" press conference too early to tell how that parlays down to the players on the field ... But nothing that bothers me yet

Watched the whole thing, especially that last 4 minutes where they were trying to get him to give them any little bone possible. Dude is all business and gives you nothing more than 1 word answers. I like him. Journos sometimes don't do their homework and I know they probably browse Jet Nation so here is a free one that should have been asked today, maybe they will ask next time. Have you slept in your office at Florham Park yet? or Have the Jets provided a sleep room at the facility yet? This dude is a workaholic and strives for perfection. Hope it translates down. Gas2No99
Agree. His addition to the staff, along with Stump, Greene, and Nunn has REALLY seemed to have changed the culture, intensity, and vocalness of the regime and this is only what the jacka$$ meedia has been able to glean off of a 3 day rookie camp and just ONE OTA in May. The new coaches are hard-a$$es but will also coach up the young guys. These new intense coaches, a significantly younger/impressionable roster, and the new "Fuçk the Media" attitude, could - in typical Jets fashion - lead to an overachieving '17 team that will surprise it early naysayers. In the end, let's see what this new regime of "Bowles' scapegoats" can do with a young and moldable team that has some talent and plenty of bashers piling on as the season approaches.
