T0mShane
Really? Because I read comments here all the time from lots of people -you included- telling me what kind of guy John Idzik is. The way John Idzik runs a team. The lack of nonsense John Idzik will take. The draft board he'll adhere to... I find it comical. In reality, the guy has no track record. He obviously strongly believes the quote, "it is better to remain silent at the risk of being thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt." You're hating on John Idzik because he quite transparently can't wait to pull the rug out on Rex, whom you like for some inexplicable reason. You yourself referred to Idzik as being The Adult In The Room that the team has lacked forever, and he's run the team in an extremely no-nonsense fashion, which I've enjoyed. He's kept the media at arm's length after they had absurd amounts of access the past four years (which, incidentally, has made Rex look smarter by extension); he's cleaning up a mess, and he hasn't committed huge money to anyone until he gets his coach installed. I'm sorry you and CTM are depressed that he just so happens to be the guy to drive the nail in Rex's coffin, but I find it equally amusing that you've determined he sucks--and will suck--because of it. slats
he does have a track record, people just choose to ignore it. They say it was a rebuilding year and the Jets were in cap hell (but don't apply this logic to the head coach of course). Matt Slauson got a 1 year deal from Chicago at 815k 100k bonus. Stephen Peterman got a 1 year deal at 905k 65k bonus. Obviously Peterman didn't see anything of that except the bonus but how is that a better short term decision? I'm not impressed with his first year. At all. But I'm willing to see what he does next year with a cache of cash and picks. Which I think is generous of me considering the fact that I have no choice in the matter.

No, I'm just not sold on him. The bold above I think is a bunch of extraneous BS, but then I don't care nearly as much about style points as you do. I wouldn't care if he was making porno shorts with Rex and his wife if he was capable of bringing talent in here. That's his job. I'm not sold that he's cleaned up any mess, yet, either. joewillie78
Also, just noticed Boyd going Top 10 in the mock. I'm willing to bet anyone $100 right now he isn't drafted in the first round. I agree completely. I watched him against FSU and he was totally lost. Had no clue where to go with the ball when Watkins was covered. When he is pressed, his accuracy is awful. If there is a QB that resembles Geno Smith in this draft its this guy. Steer clear. The Qbs that go before him: Teddy Bridgewater Blake Bortles Johnny Fottball David Carr Brett Hundley (if he declares) I also think, McCarron could go before him. He looks like a mid 2nd to me, at best.

The difference is competence. If Tannenbaum had built a team here, Peyton would've picked up.

Larz
. That first season served as a template for the rest of his career. sarcasm ?
Villain The Foe
I'm going to disagree w/ your assessment of Colin Kaepernick. I think he's knocking on the door of elite even right now. I see him is a guy who I think is a franchise QB but doesn't have the weapons around him. I'd trade 2 #1s to get Kaepernick in a heartbeat (and then try to build around him) but the 49ers are almost certainly not looking to trade him. I wouldn't argue that. He's only played one full year and the guy they shipped off is having a better season. I wouldn't deny he's knocking on the door though. I just feel like he still has to put a bit more on the field before before I publicly make such a statement. But does he have the potential? Sure. Villain The Foe
Denario Alexander's knee is probably held together with silly putty at this point. Which makes him the perfect Idzik dumpster diving pickup. other "damaged goods" prospects include Kenny Britt and dare to dream, Jeremy Maclin. No way he can recover you think?
