Barton
Let it be Lendale White, not Deangelo Williams. If Lendale declares he could really move up the charts if he has an awesome proday workout numbers. He reminds me alot of Larry Johnson. A big powerful back, nimble on his feet and deceptively fast. 1 scenario that would be of GREAT value to this team would be trading down a few spots from #4, picking up another 2nd rd pick and drafting Lendale White. Lendale "Green And" White

Even though I still disagree with you, the Jets would have been better off losing, but whatever. I was crushed, Reggie Bush is my Jets hopes and dreams and you kicked me while I was down. ok, that was painful. Max give me my 5 bucks now
The Gun Of Bavaria
Barton bro it's all good. We're all Jets fans and we all love this team, perhaps a little too much. This team is so FUBAR right now that I honestly wouldn't know where to start if I was GM. What really makes me worry is I know that this is probably a 2 year rebuild at a minumum. Barton
The more I think about this, the better I like it. I really think this is the best possible scenario for the Jets. Trading down a couple spots (picking up an additional 2nd for sure, maybe more) grabbing a beast of a running back in Lendale White. We'd have 2 2nd rd picks, and at least 2 3rd rd picks (at least 1 comp 3rd rder) That would be incredible. We could, potentially finish day 1 with a franchise running back, a starting right tackle, a starting guard, a center to groom under Mawae, and possibly a big Dtackle. I'm thinking Lendale White in the 1st rd, Winston Justice and Max Jean Giles in the 2nd rd, Degory and a defensive player in the 3rd rd. Rd 1: Lendale White Rd 2: Max Jean Giles Winston Justice/Other top OT that slips to 2nd rd Rd 2 B: Winston Justice/Other top OT that slips to 2nd rd Rd 3: Center Mike Degory Rd 3 B: Outside linebacker/Defensive tackle
Jetlag
Trade down and get Maroney and Eslinger!!! If White and Vince Young come out it'll give our pick more value.

You mean like DFat did a few years back? Yea, let the Jets keep drafting these so-called "work-out warriors" who have a great combine but will do crap in the NFL. I'm not disagreeing with you Lag. I also think White will be an excellent player in the NFL based on "what he has done on the football field". My point is that no player should "shoot up the charts" based on what they do at the combine. The combine should never be used to elevate a player, but only knock them down if they have a poor workout (speed, strength, etc.). Just my opinion though. shawn306
I think we have leared just from D-Rob himself that you can take the combines and throw them out the window. Get me a bunch of film of all the guys I'm intersted in and find out which ones can play football and which ones can't. The combines are a load of crap. But, what I am saying is, Lendale will shoot up the charts if he has a really good proday. And sometimes 40times and combines do showcase some talent. Ronnie Brown is a great running back who shot up the charts because of his great combine numbers. Speed cannot be taught and neither can instincts. mudcat21
What really makes me worry is I know that this is probably a 2 year rebuild at a minumum. Seems like we have been rebuilding the whole 5 years Hermie and Bradway have been here. When the offense stinks we blow it up and start over, then the Defense. We need someone without a 7 year plan in charge.

Many people can be good in college, but not in the NFL.. The combine helps ween out the College stars from the NFL stars... Without the combine you get guys like Darnell Autry and Anthony Davis going in the 1st round..

GlennFoley
I also don't think Lendale White will be a great pro to be honest with you.. His style is very similar to that of Ron Dayne. Both are big backs who rely too much on finnesse and footspeed. They also both had terrific offensive lines to hide their flaws.. Lendale White's style doesn't really fit the NFL.. Brian Calhoun is considering coming out... Brian Calhoun=Reggie Bush

Jetlag
You're wrong about White. He'll be a very good pro without a doubt. I do agree about Calhoun though. Does anyone know for sure whether he's a JR or a SR. The Badgers site says he's a senior and ESPN says he's a junior. Calhoun ISN'T Reggie Bush so that's an overstatement but he is a very explosive player and I'd certainly love to have him.
Bugg
Tx I understand what you are saying and agree for the most part. I just thought that you actually believed White would be a workout warrior. Agreed. An excuse for lazy GMs not to do their film homework and watch college games and then play silly games with draft postion trades, which has become the hallmark of Bradway. He fell in love with damn near every pick he's ever made save Vilma after watching them run or jump or soem other silly BS that has very little to do with football. It's also how he gets stuck with all that dreck on the DL and at DB. White to me looks like a solid NFL RB. Which is why Bradway will overthink and overanalyze the pick and get some guy you've barely ehard of at a position the Jets don't need, probably on defense, who does some nice combine things. Half expect to hear Jeremy Bloom's name next to the Jets at some point on draft day-measurables, special teams depth, blah, blah, blah.
