What a surprise- another home Thursday game for the Patriots

Since the inception of Thursday night games

5 home games

0 road games

thst is not random

It's absolute homer bullsh*t! Mark Sclereth was talking about playing on a short week on TNF & he says it's a huge advantage for the home team! Visiting team is traveling while the home players are rolling out of bed for their walkthroughs.

That was a HUGE WIN for us in Buffalo last Thursday. It still blows my mind that the schedule makers could look at the Jets opening 6 games & not say "yeesh, Jets are not gonna be happy". 5 playoff teams, a division opponent ON THE ROAD on a short week and 4 road games vs 2 division champions, KC who had won 11 of 12 until last week in Houston & the Steelers, a team that beat a 12-4 Bengals team on the road in last years playoffs!

The toughest thing for the Pats was starting on the road (Cards slept walked through the 1st half). Then 3 home games in a row INCLUDING a huge advantage home TNF game. ( luckily the the Pats are hurting so it eliminates their advantage).

Obviously the 3 home games during Brady's suspension was merely a coincidence. Somehow the NFL's computers always allow for the Patriots to play at home on short rest. Tough sledding as usual for the Pats. Outside of the butt fumble Thanksgiving massacre- the Patriots have never had to travel for a Thursday game.

They were home on the Sunday prior to playing on Thursday also. Ridiculous.

Im fearful that Brisset will be good. He was solid at NC State.

BTW..3 NC State QB's starting in the NFL this week and a would be starter, Mike Glennon sits.

Shouldn't really effect us, Brady will be back when we play the Pats. Right now we are only a game behind them with an entire season to catch up so i wouldn't worry about that either.

Agreed! Just f*cking beat them with Brady @ QB, we already know Brady can't throw those 3 deep ball we got burned on like Dalton or Trod.

Brady can still throw a decent deep ball but we have time to tighten up our defense before we play him. The one thing that will hurt is we play him right after our bye and we have a tendency of coming back from our bye weeks a bit sloppy.

Wasn't that with Rex? Did we win after our bye last year?

That really only matters when the game before was a road game or home game. Look that up

Learn the game, bud.  Teams are coming from home, and the road team has to travel to the game instead of driving over to the stadium in your car.  Unless the road team travels directly to the site from wherever they play the previous Sunday, the travel time eats into their preparation time.  Of course that is always true about playing on the road.  But the difference here is there is less time to prepare for the Thursday night game than a Sunday game.  Much less.  So the proportionate effect is greater.

A team having 5 home & 0 away

is not the same as

A team having 1 home & 1 away

lol ... Go talk crazy some place else ... We're all filled up here

Well if Brisett gets injured what does BB do after Edelman suit up the waterboy. I know he only had 4 days to get ready for this game. Actually I looked it up he only had 3 Qbs in training camp. I know that Edelman was a college Qb and knows their offense better than a guy they could bring in for a couple of days. But there's always next week.

Patriots declared QB Jimmy Garoppolo (shoulder) inactive for Week 3 vs. the Texans.

This was obvious from the get go, but the Pats really committed to the injury report shenanigans. Garoppolo's arm was dangling at his side Sunday. He was never going to be ready to go 96 hours later. Third-round rookie Jacoby Brissett will get the start, and is nothing more than a thoughts-and-prayers dart throw for DFS purposes. Also inactive for the Pats are RB D.J. Foster, LB Dont'a Hightower, OG Jonathan Cooper, OT LaAdrian Waddle, CB Eric Rowe and TE AJ Derby.
