Draft Ramczyk at 6 or after a small trade down . Draft Foreman in the 2nd and Willis in the 3rd if he's there and insert 3 players into the rotation  on game day . 2 possible starters and a short yardage specialist in foreman for that 1st year .

The hip surgery doesn't concern you?

Taking a guy at 6 that is projected to go in the middle or end of the 1st round and coming off a major surgery that will keep him out of the pre-draft process is exactly the kind of move you don't make. It's a desperation move. Yeah, it sucks that we draft in the top 6 in a weak OL year, but we shouldn't compound that issue by reaching for Ramczyk. If anything, we would be better off taking BPA at 6 and the hoping this kid lasts to the very end of the 1st round and we trade up to snag him.

I'm not anti-Ramczyk, I'm just not a fan at the top half of the draft.

Edit to add that I LOVE drafting Foreman in the second. Guy is a beast. Not nearly as gifted as Fournette, but then again I am not sure I have seen anyone as gifted at RB since Bo Jackson.

No, because from what I have been able to gather, while he won't participate in Combine activities, he will be ready for camp .   As of this posting, this kid or Trubisky are at the top of my want list . He completes a young improving OL and Foreman is the sledge hammer we needed last year along the goal line

Isn't Willis an injury case, too?

If I can land Jordan Willis in the 3rd and he shows well enough in camp, it will allow me to move  Jenkins inside next to Lee and start the year with Willis and Mauldin outside .

TinMan...I'll see you Ramczyk and Trubisky, and I'll raise you Mike Williams.

If the doctors give the green light I would be fine with him.  I know its probably a bit of a reach but I believe he has a big upside.

He does. Wisconsin OL are superb drive blockers, and this kid is a solid Pass protector along with that ,  Kid Played with an injured hip and waited until the season ended to fix it . Speaks to his toughness and team 1st attitude . We need players like this on the Jets, not the pay me kind .

Which is why you take Fournette off your board.

Really interesting discussion point actually. I know Thomas has gotten love as a 4-3 base end who can kick inside on passing downs, but I am curious to see if he kills the agility drills and gets himself in the 4-3 edge rusher conversation. Definitely an athlete, pretty productive, seems like good character.

Also I know people believe edge guys who had experience playing inside during college translate well to the NFL because they tend to have better hand usage since you learn that more inside. Potentially an interesting option at six. Obviously a premium position guy.
