The only thing wrong with the Jets roster is the fact that people who are tearing it apart are unfamiliar with the people who make up the roster . Last year at this time, folks were calling Robbie Anderson camp fodder . Bilal Powell was being considered as a fringe player incapable of doing what he did last season and Quincy Enunwa  was considered a fringe prospect who couldn't catch .

At the start of the 2017 NFL season, more players will change the perception of themselves in folks eyes. By the end of that same season, even more players will and the best part is, all these players are young.

Yeah well Quinton Coples is on the verge of a breakout year. Annual news!

This is my thought. I cant blame them for doubting the Jets, you'd be irresponsibly optimistic if you didn't, but there is every possibility that some of these guys who haven't made names for themselves show value nobody expected.

We don't have a lot of guys that you can honestly say "we've seen enough of them to know what they are" about.

From Lucky's wikipedia page:

Whitehead experienced problems during the season, like his critical fumble during a run against the Minnesota Vikings. The next week after being late to team meetings on the Saturday before the trip to New York, he was subsequently left home, fined and de-activated against the New York Giants.[9]

Lucky will fit right in.

It's become so nauseating. All because the Jets let go of all their name players. Nevermind that they were old, high priced and none of those they let go contributed positively much (on or off the field), if any, last season. But because they are names i.e. Mangold, Marshall, Revis, Decker, Harris etc the media says it'a an awful roster..

You leave out an important point.  Not only were they names, but they started all damn year.  If these young guys were better, why didn't the coaching staff use them more?

Until the last three games those old high priced names that got cut were all starting and by that point they had to know they were cutting those guys.  Secondary sucked and Burris hardly played - okay, Rodgers said that was a mistake.  Shell did not play until the final 3.  They paid Giacomini $5M to try to drag his bad back on the field over Shell.  Powell was stuck behind Forte and he isn't even young.  Lee was losing snaps to Henderson, Bruce Carter and Julian Stanford.  Hell, they even gave Taiwan Jones a shot. Jenkins and Mauldin were losing snaps to Catapano and Bishop and they brought in a bunch of waiver wire guys who often got on the field in pass rush situations (Ochi, Arthur Brown).  Not a good sign.  I won't even mention QB.

I hope these young guys do well, but it would seem that either the old stiffs that were there were better last year or our coaches were idiots.  Possibly both.  Neither one is particularly encouraging.

Lucky Whitehead?  OMG, why?????

He was actually a pretty decent KR. Would be a ST upgrade here. We suck at returning and this guy has really good speed, something that is very critical on returns.
