shutout
You're dead on direjet...It makes me happy to see that the overwhelming majority of Yankee fans (and 75% of baseball fans on an ESPN poll) see why this was such a great deal. Randy Johnson for nothing in return would have been a good deal. Getting actual players in return makes it one of Cashmans best deals ever. Keep up the good work Cash. How much of his salary are we taking on for next year? Just $2mil right?
Sharrow
Why trade for a reliever when Ron Villone is still available?
madmike1
Why trade for a reliever when Ron Villone is still available? because Torre ran Villone into the ground to the extent that his career is probably over. And we get a draft pick when he signs with another team.
AFJF
Why trade for a reliever when Ron Villone is still available? I'm not sure the Yankees were tempted to sign a lifelong scrub who had two and a half good months. The guy is practically begging the Yankees to bring him back so I'm hoping they don't make the same mistake twice.
