#90
The New York Jets have acquired wide receiver Santonio Holmes(notes) from the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick, but ProFootballTalk is reporting that 27-year-old Jets running back Leon Washington(notes) was also part of the deal, giving the Steelers more options on kick returns. That is, if Washington can return in good health from compound leg fractures. Meanwhile, the Steelers rid themselves of 2009 Super Bowl MVP Holmes, who is wrapped in the middle of a legal kerfuffle with a woman who claims he threw a glass at her in an Orlando nightclub that cut her above the eye . PS17
Well, that kinda sucks, but we made it far without him. Ryan Mathews in the draft please.
SMC
NO. LEON IS NOT PART OF THE TRADE. 1. Leon can't pass a physical which he needs to do to get traded. 2. Leon has to sign his tender to get traded which he hasn't done. Peter King, NFL & Jets shot down this false rumor.
Greenranger
Good move. He wanted to much money for what he did and we don't know how he will be coming off of a catastrophic leg injury like his.
JoeWillie
From Rotoworld ... Restricted free agent Leon Washington is not part of the Santonio Holmes trade, according to SI's Peter King. It's still possible that he could be dealt after signing his one-year tender, but King is certain that Leon is not part of this trade. King also updates that the pick acquired by the Steelers was the 151st overall, not the 155th. As long as Washington doesn't end up in Pittsburgh, this deal is robbery for the Jets. derp
Then WTF is wrong with PFT? PFT just threw it out there as a possibility and whatever source #90 quoted just has awful reading comprehension skills. The PFT writeup made it quite clear that they were just speculating. Washington isn't a part of the deal, it's just the 5th.

SMC
The source was from Yahoo sports on Facebook. Based on an incorrect cite to PFT. PFT NEVER reported that Leon was part of the deal. PFT said there were rumors. The Yahoo people f'd up and then reported that PFT reported he was included.
