Awesome brawl between the Nats and Marlins

Gaby Sanchez with the clothesline!

I don't think Morgan did anything wrong....was playing the game hard.

Here was the upshot-The night before, Morgan had taken a cheap-shot (from the Marlins view) on their catcher the night before. He was coming home to score, the catcher was standing up and he just barreled into him-he didn't need to. The catcher broke his wrist or something else to end his season.

So last night, 2nd time up, Morgan gets hit. He proceeds to steal second and 3rd, down 11 runs. The Marlins deem this as an unspoken rule-don't know why. His next time up , they throw behind his back, which set off the bench clearing.

The real entertainment was having the Baseball Package, and toggling back and forth between the 2 broadcasts and hearing on the Marlins broadcast about what a nut job Morgan is and how MLB needs to do something about him. And then going to the Nat broadcast, and hearing what a bunch of cheap shot artists the Marlins are.

Morgan in the last couple of weeks

-Threw the last out ball HARD into the Philly stands (suspended 7 games-appealed

-Plowed into 2 catchers, and both teams cry foul

-Started a bench clearing brawl

Love this guy. Great personality, and always plays hard. Would have loved for the Pirates to keep him if McCutchen wasn't a CF; but he's just not valuable as a corner OF. I think he only had like 13 extra base hits when they traded him half way through last season.

Volstad's lucky he didn't have good aim though, that was a pretty good punch Nyjer grazed him with.

The guy is a D-Bag. He might play hard but he doesn't okay the game the right way. Hopefully he matures some and gets his head on straight before he does something really stupid.

Baseball shouldn't be a bitches sport, it should be played hard. MLB needs more players like him.

St. Louis had a legitimate beef with him, but the Marlins were acting like babies. He injured your catcher, ok, throw at him once, even if it was a clean play. But if you don't want him to steal bases, then throw him out. If they're going to throw at him every AB, he's got a right to go defend himself. Also want to point out that Volstad is a big guy at 6'8". Nyjer's got some guts.
