Offense would have one of the best in the league if they signed Derrick Mason. Everybody is quick to blame Hackett but I don't think it was all his fault. Hell, they had the leading rusher in the league - that is offense. The leading rusher on a 10-6 playoff team is pretty good, not like a QB that throws for a lot of (garbage) yards on a 3-13 team... Did we get a Terrell Owens/Randy Moss type complainer in Coles? They guy is complaining about Joe Gibbs' (one of the greatest offensive coaches) offense - and he caught 90 balls! Mason would definitely make an impact on this team. A rookie may or may not. Cotchery is going to be good be he's not an impact player yet. He's the same age as Ferguson and is a dominant run-stuffer. Besides, how many YOUNG dominant nose tackles are there out there? None. It's a position that requires a lot of development. You can't just draft someone or sign a cheap young stop-gap and expect him to be a man-mountain. Nose tackle is the ONE POSITION (besides kicker and punter) where it is OK to be on the wrong side of 30, because there is NO ONE under that age who fits the bill as a dominant run-stuffer. Signing players who are 30+ years old to long term deals is the quickest way to salary cap hell. The Eagles' FO realised that a long time ago and that is why they are contenders every year.
