Law's agent has Jets on his radar

Thursday, July 28, 2005

By RANDY LANGE

Have the Jets made an offer Ty Law can't refuse? Agent Carl Poston reportedly said Wednesday that the Jets, one of four teams interested in Law's services, have made an offer "averaging more than $6 million" for the former Pro Bowl cornerback.

Poston wouldn't go into specifics such as length of contract, guaranteed money or bonuses or whether Law, set to work out today at Jacksonville, has scheduled a visit with the Jets.

If the Jets have made an offer, it certainly is contingent on Law passing a physical and showing in a workout that his left foot, broken last season, is virtually 100 percent for the coming season.

A Jets spokesman said Wednesday night that the team had no comment on USAToday.com's report of an offer and that a visit has yet to be scheduled.

I'd laugh my a** off if the Jets offered him $6 mil.

hopefully you'll laugh yourself to death, but we all know that averaged 6 mill a year means nothing if the last years are 12-15 mill per and 2-3 the first two years, that averages 6 mill per year but means nothing because he will never see the final years of teh contract

so take it with a grain

It still counts against the cap, does it not?
