GREENBEAN
Wouldn't THAT be interesting? I remember Rex saying he was one of the better CB's on the team or something like that a little while back no? Joe McKnight of Jets reportedly could play cornerback 79 By Kareem Copeland Around the League Writer Published: Sept. 15, 2012 at 09:30 a.m. Updated: Sept. 15, 2012 at 11:09 a.m. [*]Print New York Jets running back Joe McKnight could pull double-duty against the Pittsburgh Steelers this week. Coach Rex Ryan had McKnight take cornerback snaps at practice this week in case of an emergency situation, sources told Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. Jeremiah: Key matchups in Week 2 Daniel Jeremiah has Week 2's top battles, including Ray Lewis vs. LeSean McCoy and Peyton Manning vs. Matt Ryan. More ... Shutdown corner Darrelle Revis is out with a concussion, which leaves just four healthy cornerbacks on the active roster to match up with the "Young Money Crew" of Mike Wallace, Antonio Brown and Emmanuel Sanders. McKnight played cornerback and safety in high school before Pete Carroll (now coach of the Seattle Seahawks) moved him to running back at USC. He only played three offensive snaps Week 1 (Bilal Powell beat out McKnight for the Jets' No. 3 running back role). We know McKnight can run. But can he turn his hips, change direction and locate the ball in the air? There's guys who play the position everyday who barely can do all three. The last thing Jets fans want to see is a situation in which McKnight gets caught in a 1-on-1 matchup against one of those three Steelers wide receivers. Larz
it's just smart to have an emergency guy he won't be in there unless there is an injury tho
The Gun Of Bavaria
No possible way that will end up badly. None. Sigh

SayNoToDMC
If he's that good as a corner can we just make the move permanent? he's clearly not getting better at RB

New York Mick
Not really a big deal, he's just there if there's an injury.
Smashmouth
If he's that good as a corner can we just make the move permanent? he's clearly not getting better at RB was thinking the same thing but its probably Rex and his usual bullsh*t. As much as Rex loves a good corner and as bad as McKnight is as a RB it makes perfect sense to move him if he can actully play the position. SayNoToDMC
Not really a big deal, he's just there if there's an injury. That's what Raiders fans said about Travis Goethal then he had to play
JustInFudge
This isnt a first. He's played CB before and can remember Rex saying that he thinks he'd be a good corner. I remember a game where he played quite well which include a legit pressure on the QB. Everyone proceeded to blow him for a week until he had a costly fumble the following game.
