LOL, I doubt it, not his style. IF Idzik truly let data out I'd be wondering if its red herring data,,come on, you ought to know Idzik style by now

I know his style, but I don't know whether or not he likes Ebron. Those notes seemed pretty legit and realistic. Hopefully someone knows what I'm talking about and posts it.

Plus they keep sending scouts down here to look at him etc.. I know they are looking at James Hurst in3/4th round as OL and Bryn Renner as QB in 6/7/UDFA, but I dont think scouts are flying down here for them ;)

hm, I could be wrong. Oh well. I just hope his 12% drop rate doesn't continue in the NFL if he's a jet

LOL, lack of WR/RB talent had him double teamed every play last season, will actually have less stress catching in NFL, Every team/scouts have him in Top20 for a reason

Bucky knows his stuff:

He's definitely an acrobatic catcher, I wanted him in the first round earlier in the year and then I figured it might be better to pass on him and take a TE in the 2nd. We'll see

In March 2013, Lyerla had one specific outburst that could create some red flags for one or more NFL teams interested in Lyerla.  At that time, Lyerla posted multiple Twitter messages expressing support for the idea that the mass shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut were in some way the result of a governmental conspiracy.

“The parents of the kids that supposedly died in the sandy hook situation are liars,” Lyerla tweeted and later deleted, according to Graham Watson of Yahoo! Sports.

wow.  lets just say I disagree.  the friday after it happened, I was on church hill road.  I had just left doing work for a customer in sandy hook.  I got caught in traffic as 2 funeral processions drove by me. It had been a cloudy morning, but the sun broke through the clouds as the fire trucks escorting one of the hurst (sp?) limos' drove by.

I lost it.

lets just say I am not a fan of this guy

NFL Media recently provided a broad, vague assessment of former Oregon tight end Colt Lyerla, calling him “[o]verly emotional and prone to outbursts following a dysfunctional childhood that offered little direction and much confusion related to a divorce.”

Sports.

The University of Oregon at the time denounced Lyerla’s tweets on the topic, calling them “insensitive and offensive.” Lyerla was dismissed from the team in October 2013 for an unspecified rules violation, and he later pleaded guilty to cocaine possession.

Multiple NFL teams may feel the same way, and some teams (especially the Giants, Jets, and Patriots, who all play in the region containing Newtown) will surely remove Lyerla from their draft boards based his comments about Sandy Hook — unless he persuasively and unequivocally denounces them and apologizes for them, or at a minimum explains that cocaine is indeed a hell of a drug.

Teams presumably knew about Lyerla’s remarks, and teams presumably grilled him for them at the Scouting Combine. Beyond the interview room, Lyerla had a mixed bag of Combine results. He managed only 15 reps in the 225-pound bench press, the fewest for all tight ends. In contrast, he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.61 seconds, putting him behind only Eric Ebron and A.C. Leonard at the position.

Lyerla also pocketed $10,000 for generating the fastest 40-yard dash while wearing a specific Adidas shoe. The prize was promoted in Indy by Snoop Dogg, who may have advised Lyerla to switch to marijuana.

UPDATE 3:22 p.m. ET 3/2/14: One of Lyerla’s agents has contacted PFT to dispute the suggestion that Lyerla was dismissed from the Oregon team. The agent characterized the move as a mutual decision. In stating that Lyerla was dismissed, we relied on an item on the topic posted by NFL.com. The agent also pointed out that Lyerla won only $10,000, not $100,000 for his 4.61-second 40-yard dash wearing a specific type of Adidas shoe.

oh boy.  the only other thing I'll post before it ruins my day is my wife knows someone who works in the SH schools, and I heard about it before it was even on CNN.  my kids school was put down in lockdown and the local police surrounded the school complex and wouldn't allow parents on campus.

craziest day of my life.

UNC

Eric Ebron

Ebron was obviously the highlight coming into Tuesday. He's considered the top tight end in the upcoming 2014 NFL Draft by many experts, including SB Nation's own Dan Kadar. Ebron measured in at just above 6'4 and weighed in at 253 pounds at UNC's pro day, according to David Hamilton of Comcast Sports Southeast, though he did not take part in most of the measurable drills such as the 40-yard dash and vertical leap.

That's because he sat on his numbers from the scouting combine, which were generally impressive. At said combine, he ran an official 40-yard dash of 4.6 seconds, completed 24 reps on the bench press at 225 pounds, recorded a 32-inch vertical leap and a 120-inch broad jump. He sat on all of those numbers Tuesday.

But he did take part in multiple receiver-centric drills and caught passes from quarterback Bryn Renner. Unfortunately, what's drawing the most buzz at this point is a negative: multiple drops.

Tony Pauline of DraftInsider.net reports that Ebron "did not look good" at his pro day, and that he dropped a number of passes while looking poor in his drills. The aforementioned David Hamilton gives us the exact number of three drops.

In a bubble, three drops doesn't seem like much but in the friendly atmosphere and with the scripted nature of a pro day, it's a little troubling. Ebron has had drop issues throughout his college career and those drops emerging in what is generally the best-case scenario for a player is never a good sign. He'll still be a high draft pick, but there will definitely be some disappointed scouts today.

Ebron will be long gone by 18, and TE is not Jets biggest need anyway, Jets should take Odell Beckham with 18, and CB Marcus Roberson in the 2nd, if he's still available. To be honest, I think the Jets shoudl take CB Kyle Fuller if he's still available at 18 given that cheapzik totally fumbled the ball on the CB position

I'm a little sad that Fuller has been catching on. Wanted him in the 2nd or with one of the third, but someone will take him in the late first. Besides Jimmy Williams, VT's best DB prospects have been pretty studly in the league since Hall in 2003.

that wouldnt bother me either, but Ebron gives Geno a immediate safety valve he doesnt have now..LBs will have issue covering Ebron, aka matchup =open short routes and escape valve in case primary covered..thats where Geno faltered last year
