By what means will the Patriots cheat next season?

In 2007, after the Patriots were caught in the Spygate scandal, New England ripped off 18 straight wins in dominant fashion before losing to the Giants in the Super Bowl.  At the time, they were lauded in the media for being "pissed off" and that this alone was what had motivated them to play near-perfect football.  We know now they were simply upping their cheating game in further defiance of a league who dared punish them for what they'd been doing the prior 6 years.

Now, with neither Brady nor Kraft showing any remorse whatsoever, and with Belichick pretending to know nothing now despite trying to act like the Bill Nye of football pressure science at the time of the scandal, it's very clear the Patriots will be upping their cheating game once again.  Sadly, the AFC East will not be ours next season.  This is due to the fact that the NFL did not install any kind of probationary period for the Patriots' activities to be monitored, much like the NCAA would do to a program in trouble.

Therefore, in what new ways will the Patriots attempt to get an edge on the competition in 2015 with Brady out the first 4 games?  Get creative.

They will heat up the outside of their gloves so that they are sticky making it easier to hold onto the balls, when caught probably because the partially melted glove leaves black marks all over the football they will first say they knew nothing about it then about a week later they will admit that it is alright because every team does it and it has no effect on the game, a few weeks after that the organization along with the entire fan base will become scientists who are experts in how mother nature can naturally melt gloves and how melted gloves have no impact on the sport.

New ways? They'll just keep cheating all the old ways in which they haven't been caught yet.

Not as fun an answer.  C'mon, we all know the "old ways" weren't enough in 2007, and they won't be enough in '15 either with Garoppolo under center and no ability to deflate the footballs anymore.  Think outside the box, slats!

Wouldn't be shocked at any of the following:

- Putting a mechanical system in the goalposts which enables them to narrow the uprights

when the opposition kicks towards them.  And widens the uprights when Gostkowski kicks

towards them

- Having different sets of first down sticks.  One slightly shorter than 10 yards when they

have the ball on offense.  And one slightly longer than 10 yards when the opponent has the

ball

I hope the Patriots realize they are under an NFL league electron microscope now....any new infraction, or the appearance of an infraction will weight heavily on them with two "priors" on the record.

Any new cheating will be dealt with in the severest manner....make no mistake about that.

If the Patriots have any brains (and they are a smart organization) they'll come back as the most rules conforming team to turn the heat down on themselves and perhaps shine the spotlight on other teams that shade the rules. They would love that!

Having said that, their offense often never sets before hiking the ball - and that IS a penalty under the current rules. I'm wondering if the refs will begin calling it this year.

My prediction is that they do not care and will keep doing business as usual...

Why have a different set of first down sticks when they're awarded first downs even when they come up short?
