We already noted that the Browns’ two best offensive linemen, left tackle Joe Thomas and center Alex Mack, are both on the trade block, as is linebacker Paul Kruger. Now Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer is reporting that Barkevious Mingo is on the block as well, and the Browns have told teams that Mingo is available. The 6-foot-4, 240-pound Mingo is a talented pass rusher who hasn’t always looked like a great fit for what the Browns want to do on defense. Cleveland took him with the sixth overall pick in the 2013 draft, and he has just seven career sacks — none this year. The Browns surely won’t be able to get anything close to the Top 10 pick they spent on Mingo, but if they could get anything of value in a trade, they’d probably be willing to let Mingo go. This is a team building for the future, not trying to win in 2015.
pointman
Maybe we can do something with him and get some actual pass rush?
JoJoTownsell1
I think Mingo is aaron Maybin but I'd take a flyer on him. We desperately need an outside speed rusher. Calvin pace and his 5.3 speed isn't cutting it anymore.
JetPotato
What does he have? 7 career sacks? Maybe if we don't have to give up anything.

RESNewYork
I agree. Coples for Mingo makes sense. Pettine knows Coples and Mingo gives us some athleticism on the edge
jetscrazey
If Mike Pettine couldn't make Mingo fit into an aggressive, man-coverage, attack philosophy, what makes you think Mingo will fit into this defense?

The idea that Pettine sucks and that another coach might be able to pull something out of him.

Bowles's defense not exactly lighting it up lately with back to back 30 point games
pointman
Bowles's defense not exactly lighting it up lately with back to back 30 point games Doesn't mean our coach can't maybe find something in Mingo that Pettine couldn't.

bealeb319
If they let him go cheap I wouldn't be upset, the kid was a top 10 talent coming out of college and spent his first what season and a half injured?

Jetman55
Id rather send a conditional pick for Krueger. Better fit for what we do and an upgrade from Pace, IMO. Only has 0.5 sacks, so he should come cheap but had 11 last year. hard for me to see the Browns with both OLBs with a combined 0.5 sacks for this season and not think some of the issues are tied to what they're being asked to do...
