Atlantis bahamas

Went for a wedding back in’08

ideal for families and kids. Plenty of cheap booze and the beach for adults.

Do the temple water slide. the aquarium is pleasant and a different experience.  I’m not a gambler, but there is a casino.

if you’re adventurous, walk off the resort and cross the bridge to eat some good street food under the bridge (fried snapper, grouper, conch, ceviches) that’s pretty inexpensive and an escape from the overpriced resort restaurants. It all gets old after 3 days.

good info on the outside of the resort eating.   not interested in the casino.

It's nice, but pricey.   I always like all inclusives, just because I don't like feeling like I'm being hit up for $50 every 30 minutes.

which tower did you guys stay at?

i am thinking of staying in the Reef - apparently this has a kitchen so we can save a few bucks (and time and calories) on food.

but it's pricey - think my wife showed me two room ideas - one was 700 a night and one was 1100 a night.  crazy.

I didn't stay there, I was on a cruise and they dropped us there for the day, and my step sister stays there every few years.

Went twice, once with the wife (and regret to this day we didn't take the kids) and once for a work offsite (we had a VERY good time).

The whole facility is beautiful--however it is kind of Disney--although not nearly as campy and with fish and sharks and manta rays.  I left the wife sunning herself in a loungechair and lost myself for 2 hours just checking out the grounds.  Got back to her and said "damn can't believe we didn't take the kids".  Then did it again the next day.  Your kids will LOVE it.  Better/different than any waterpark.

If you can get a baby/child sitter, gotta take the wife to The Ocean Club for dinner--about 15 minutes east of The Atlantis.

Outstanding.

the ocean club costs 2500 to 4000 a night.  can't imagine what dinner costs.    We will look into the dinner thing though.

now i am looking forward to the trip.

which tower did you stay?   think we are thinking of staying at the Reef because it's a little less crowded and has a kitchen.  The view from the pricy room is nice.  not sure it's worth it though.

We stayed at The Royal and The Reef.

It’s pricey but dinner at The Ocean Club was really really good. Romantic, quiet, the opposite of The Atlantis.

If you can get there.

So the wife wants to go to Atlantis in the Bahamas.   Anyone been?  Where did you stay?

it sounds like not much fun but she’s really into water parks. We have two kids.

Just went in Sept.  Stayed at the Cove.  It was a friends 40th.  A big group, so it was fun but we are gamblers and like to party.  The Big 3 also happened to be in town that weekend and it was opening weekend for college Football which made it kind of cool because there were a bunch of old ballers and celebs.  So we were there to party, get cabana's pool side, I played a few rounds of golf, and go to the casino in which it delivered.  Very expensive though.

Did see a ton of families though, chilling on the beach or poolside.  Doing the slide, swim with Dolphins/Pigs/Stingrays, etc.  Good eats, water park is okay, not great.  There are different things to get into for families for sure but idk, feel like there are better options for the price you're going to pay.
