Parada, but I had the same question!

He’s been DHing of late. He came out as a senior with quite the pedigree but has not been playing well in all areas. Very disappointed on his progress. Come trade deadline may want to add him as a chip… needs new scenery. Alvarez is our future

With Alvarez out indefinitely, is Paralta ready to bring up? JD will make big difference when here, but need to add a bat to make up for Alvarez.

Interesting.  IIRC they said he was close to major league ready when they drafted him.

My joy over how well they have been doing lately has now been ruined by these god awful City Connect jerseys. What the actual ****.

Alvarez has torn ligament in thumb. Out indefinitely! 🤬

The way that happened, and the severity, is just so weird. We’ve all used our hand to do that hundreds of times playing sports. This is so Mets/ Jets it’s not funny.

Alonso down to.218. Looks like last year was no aberration.

Below average glove, doesn’t hit for average but connects for 40/120 and 20-25 doubles. Not enough for the kind of $ Boras wants.

Best pitching prospect they've called up since the mid-2010's. Really a lot riding on him.

Plus would give the season some "juice" if we had a young pitcher on the rise.  Like the good old days where we thought Harvey/deGrom/Syndergaard/Wheeler/Matz were going to be dominant for a long time.

Ironic that the guy who was hurt the entire great season of 2015. Wheeler, has arguably had the longest, best career of them all.

Longest yes.  deGrom is the best though, no?

Christian Scott- 6.2 IP -  5 hits -  1 ER  -  6 SO

Encouraging

Yup.  Excellent start by the rookie.  Seems like some of our veteran relievers could learn a little something from him about throwing strikes.

McNeil and Alonso are absolutely killing this team.

There is plenty of blame to go around.  They are not the ones walking 9 guys and allowing 6 or 7 SBs (I lost count).  Or HRs with two outs in the 9th.  This is who they are right now - a bad team that had a fluky good run a couple of weeks ago.  Maybe things get better when Senga and Alvarez come back, but they are tough to watch right now.

Was really hoping they’d be able to stretch a half season out of McNeil until they were ready to bring Acuna up but jeez I don’t think so.

I honestly believe that had not Mauricio gotten hurt that McNeil would be somewhere else right now.

I think the plan for Mauricio was always 3rd or corner OF. Acuna has been heating up finally, I think there’s a strong chance we see him sometime sooner than later this year.

These sequences are becoming way too common:  Single, walk, ground out, walk, hit batsman (run), walk (run).  This team is not good enough to win games while handing teams runs.

Howie said it on yesterday’s game that walks are going to be the downfall of this season. The lack of length on the starters not being able to throw the ball over the plate is killing the bullpen.Every game, 60 pitches by the 3rd inning. Only guy who hadn’t done it so far is Scott.

Also makes this team so hard to watch.  Sitting through a game when a pitcher can't throw strikes is brutal.
