Of those, 8/11 have been on offense. 4/7 first round picks have been on offense (O: Becton, Zach, AVT, G. Wilson, 😧 Sauce, JJ, McDonald) 4/4 2d rounders have been on offense (O: Mims, Moore, Breece, Tippmann) Hard to argue we're overallocating draft resources to the D or neglecting the O with our premium picks So you're saying JD just sucks at building a working Offense, given the level of investment, and the resulting last or near-last ranks? I agree. 1 1

I'm saying that when you miss on a QB as badly as the Jets did on Zach, almost nothing else you do on offense matters unless you get obscenely lucky (see "Brock Purdy in the 7th").

Ken O'Brien had two good years with the Jets and the rest were fair to outright bad. Taking him over Marino was a collosal mistake.

Oh, it matters too. Saying it doesn't just ignores/excuses the various other mistakes, misfires and outright screwups on offense by JD. Birds would sh*t on him in the pocket because they thought he was a statue.

So what ur saying is the Jets aren't the only team with a killer Defense!

Era 1, we had some decent QB play with Penny and Sanchez and as such, would win 9-10 games. A decent QB, not great, Jets win at least 9-10 games last year. IMO. Which isn't the greatest offensive build in the world, but outside of QB it's not an abject failure; it's just ... average

I agree. I might be going on poor memory here, but if you look back at the run of draft picks during the Rex era, and I guess the Bowles period also (too short a stay to be an era ), we heavily favored defense over offense at the top of the draft. So you could say that the offense's underperformance was due to lack of investment. With JD we have invested a lot more draft picks, but still come up well short when it comes to performance. (HITS - Breece, GW, hopefully Tippy; MISSES - Becton, Wilson, Mims, Moore; TBC - AVT w. injury issues). Wilson missing is especially damaging given the importance of that position. Now you can argue for days about which is worse - not to try; or to try, and fail anyway. But either way, it hasn't been at all good. EDIT - the actual "HITS" on each side comes out the same - 2 on O, 2 on D, with two that are "too early to tell". In % terms, a far worse hit rate on O than on D.
