mbn007
You didn't highlight anything about his character. Seriously, he could become a decent OLB, used primarily as a run blitzer, or a pass rush specialist from a stand-up position.

Seriously, he could become a decent OLB, used primarily as a run blitzer, or a pass rush specialist from a stand-up position. MBN. Here's the character quotes in that prospect profile for Bryan Thomas. Good playbook digester who spends the time needed to improve in the weight and film rooms … Named to the UAB Athletic Director's Academic Honor Roll twice during his career ------------------------------------------------------- If there was an OLB/DE in this draft with these physical traits in The 2006 draft, He'd go in the first two rounds. 6'4 266 4.47 in the 40-yard dash … 2.61 in the 20-yard dash … 1.6 in the 10-yard dash … 4.01 in the 20-yard shuttle … 34.5-inch vertical jump … Bench presses 225 pounds 33 times … 550-pound squat … 33 ½-inch arm length … 9-inch hands. RSJ
I think that Bryan Thomas has been used wrong and not developed since day one. The challenge for him will be the getting back into pass coverage part. When you think about it no one on our defense developed since Herm arrived - NO ONE. I saw flashes from Thomas but think he was overwhelmed when pass rushing. nvot9
Bryan Cox should have a field day with him. This is what he was drafted for, and this is where he will thrive. I wanted this to happen and it thankfully did, next year he will become a sack artist.

Boozer76
I'll say this: When BT first came into camp in preseason he had a burst off the line like I have never seen before. He was much lighter then, and then he got into trouble with his weight and girlfriend problems. If Mangini can bring him back to what I saw in his first pregseason, I think the kid can really be the star he was supposed to be. Yes I'm druink, which accounts for my horrible typing and probably my optimistic view of Thomas but I digress....................

Bugg
Whether it works or not, cannot say right now. But suspect Bryan Thomas is about to get some serious schooling from Bryan Cox, and much more of an education than he ever got during the Edwards Error. If he's not ready to be a player by opening day he might be a last cut on cutdown day. It's really up to him, because the tutoring is going to be there. Pretty damn ironic that a guy who had nothing good to say about how Edwards ditched him and ran things is going to be in a coaching role on this staff. Only wonder what his relationship is with DC Bob Sutton, who's been here through both regimes. Can't imagine Mangini would have him if he wasn't on the same page though.
