Why have the Patriots been in the top 5 for the last 5 years?

I thought you clowns have said everything in the NFL is cyclical.;)

Tex just accept that the dynastic run is over.

Do not let the fact that they are getting better convince you otherwise.

Did they win it all last year?

You guys blast the Jets for beating bad teams. But the Pats have taken advantage of a so-so schedule as well.

The Jets will beat the Pats when they play next. The Jets are WAY ahread of schedule here. They are doing things in year one that some people thought would take 3 years. They have FIXED the passing game and the RUNNING game looks to be coming alive.

Defense - still needs work. But you can't fix it all in a year. 10 and 6 won't be a bad record for the Jets in their rebuilding year.

Really?

The 2000 Pats finished 6-10.

The next year BB fixed everything and the Pats won the Super Bowl.

Will the Jets do the same?

look at BB in Cleveland

C'mon blackout you don't want to play this game!

Over the last 10 seasons (1996-2005) the Patriots have gone 101-59 in the regular season, made the playoffs 7 times, appeared in 4 Super Bowls (winning 3), and finished below .500 once.

but this is Mangini's first coaching stint

BB had experience under his belt by the time he started with the Pats

you'd have to compare him to BB in Cleveland

BB went 6-10 in his first year with Cleveland. He took over a 3-13 team that had fired it Coach halfway through the season. That team was a mess!

He took over a crappy old team.

Had their D playing alot better his first year. If Belichick lucked into a Brady caliber QB in Cleveland, the outcome would have been very different.

Belichick did make mistakes, but his coaching was not one of them.

Of course not. The Jets are going to finish better than 6-10.

..and if Belicheck didn't luck into a Brady caliber QB in NE he'd just be another great defensive assistant that couldn't make it as a head coach. The man has had one winning season and one playoff appearance without Brady at the helm. He was at Cleaveland for five years, the team he took over was irrelevant. Pete Carroll has a much better record as NE head coach without Brady.

Pete "pumped and jacked" Carroll took over an 11-5 team that went to the Super Bowl and produced 10-6, 9-7 & 8-8 teams in his 3 seasons with the Pats.

If you read "Patriot Reign" by Michael Holley you will see that BB and staff thought Brady was the guy to lead the team in 2001. They were ready to pull the trigger. The Mo Lewis hit accelerated things.

Don't forget that once BB made the Browns a playoff team, Art Modell ****ed over Cleveland for Baltimore.

and BB took that 8-8 team and went....drum roll please... 5-11, just like his last year in Cleaveland. Sure BB says Brady was going to be his guy now, but to expect this out of a 6th round pick? Belly didn't and neither did anybody else on the planet except maybe Brady and his momma. Nothing in some book written after the fact is going to make me believe that. If they thought Brady was 1/2 as good as he was in '00 they are idiots for not benching Bledsoe going into the season. Belicheck is a good coach, but he's not the best with people and he's proof that there is as much luck as skill to it all.

Hey Dom,

Who, in your opinion, is the best HC in the NFL right now?;)

BB took that 8-8 team to 5-11 because he cleaned house and wanted his guys.

If I'm not mistaken there were a few Jets players who jumped ship, came to New England, and became Super Bowl winners.

The players on the Pats love BB. Why? Because he puts them in the best position to win.

Your man Mangini is the same.

Gainzo,

True facts are not important here.

This is a Jets message board.

They all live in a fantasy world.

Jets are going to the Super Bowl! If you don't like it then you don't live in the real world. Chad will lead the Jets to the promised land!

In BB's 1st year in Cleveland, he gutted 72% of the roster that he inherited.

Two years later, he had the hapless Browns in the playoffs.

That's just great. I am sure he is proud of his tenure with the Browns. He probably displays his "Herman Edwards Playoff" awards right next to his Lombardi's.

You missed the point my man. BB was not a media whore unlike the last HC of the NY Jets.

Keep in mind that he "stole" a cool $1 mill from a dead bloke!

My point is this. Belly failed miserably in Clev. To call it anything else is just not right. I don't care about all the reasons why, they brought him there to win the Super Bowl and he didn't get it done.

Mumbles failed in Clev, he failed in NY. Both cities hired him to help them get their and he left those franchises in worse shape.
