Net's armt a horrific team, actually the last like 26 times we played you we are 22-4 or something crazy like that. And you Knick fans have no chance in hell of making the playoffs. Especially with my Nets making the push they are about to make. We get RJ back soon and BOOM, playoffs here we come. Your season ends April 18th or 19th. What I am curious about is what will happen in the offseason if the Knicks finish like 9th. Does Dolan give Isiah another year? and if he doesnt what will happen to Curry? Channing Frye, Eddy Curry, Renaldo Balkman and Nate Robinson as well as David Lee. Thomas inherited an impossible situation from Scott Layden and he works for the most clueless owner in the NBA. The NBA is not like the NFL. It is actually harder to get better in the NBA. In the NBA all player contracts are guaranteed and if you are over the soft cap, especially if you are $50 million over the soft cap like the Knicks were when Thomas took over, it is almost impossible to get better. The only way to get better is to draft young prospects like Frye and Lee and trade for guys like Curry and every year the draft produces fewer and fewer good players. It is almost impossible to find a good NBA player in the second round or undrafted. For every Ginoboli there are a thousand Maciej Lampe's, Omar Cook's and Pavel Podkolzin's. By contrast, in the NFL, the majority of contracts are not guaranteed and you can find studs in the draft as late as the 7th round or even undrafted. You can easily get rid of overpaid scrubs like Kevan Barlow and Justin McCareins, the Knicks are still paying Luc Longley. Has Thomas made an already bad cap situation worse by trading for guys like Marbury and Francis? Yes, but you can argue any GM working for the Knicks would have made the same moves because Dolan wants to put up the illusion of being a contender. The only way the Knicks are going to get better is if we have a GM like Thomas who can find good young players like Frye and Lee in the draft and trade for guys like Eddy Curry. All those players have major flaws. Curry's entire game is a flaw other then that he can score. Same thing with Frye who plays like a 6'1 guy though he's 6'11. Robinson is a circus act who has no place on a real team. Balkman is AT BEST a 6th man on a good team and Lee is too because he's a bad defender and can't shoot. the only thing he can do well is rebound.
