"Thursdays with GreenBeans" Edition of Post of the Week - March 29th, 2007

Recommended Posts

"Tuesday's with Morrie" was a book that a kid I once taught and coached gave me on her graduation day. While I generally do not like Mitch Albom, this was a pretty dag'on good book and a pretty nice gift for a former teacher that was invited to graduation a year after leaving school. I hope this week's POTW gives you the same warm and fuzzies. Welcome to Thursdays with the Bean.

Lot's of nominations this week, so let's get right to them:

According to NewYorkJets.com, Kellen Clemens has switched numbers back to his old college number. This past season Clemens wore #6, but since Ramsey was released, 11 was made available for the taking. So now you will see Kellen Clemens roaming the sidelines and possible running the offense in jersey #11.

And to say Paulus is the least of Duke's worries, I disagree. Every guard he plays against has a huge advantage in athleticism. Paulus doesnt handle on ball pressure well at all, and he's a friggin PG.

Here is a clip from last year:

I need to somehow shed about 10-15lbs and get the legs and lungs into shape! Not sure if many NY JN punters are around, but if you want to split your sides laughing, come down to

Pier 40

W Houston Street and West Street

8pm Kick-off. Friday, April 13th.

You can certainly rest assured there will be some yeasty, malty beverages a plenty at the full-time whistle. We may even have some at half-time!

The Tartan Day parade itself is scheduled the next day at 2pm. Official website is: http://www.tartanweek.com/

I attended the parade about 4 or 5 years ago and it was pretty impressive. The sound of bagpipes resonating down the avenues of Manhattan is pretty damn cool.

Wil Croyle be that kind of QB? I have no idea, I certainly dont think much of him, but you'll never know for sure if he doesnt get a chance to play. He will play, like Clemens, because the other QBs currently on the Chiefs roster are simply not championship caliber QBs - herm is right on this one (Green and Huard arent good enough to win a SB) and Croyle (or another QB) deserves to get a chance

Whether Herm truly believes what he said is the question.....and dont rule out them drafting another QB on day 1 in the upcoming draft.

BTW, I'm completely open to another young QB with THE SKILLS to get to a SB other than Clemens to take over Penningtons job. You people act like I am married to Clemens, I am not. But I want to see him play as I know chad isnt good enough, and Clemens has the skills to be good enough to win a SB and he is the only other QB currently on our roster who MIGHT be good enough. Whether he does or not is anyones guess, but he WILL get a chance to start.

(Editor's note: Solid post, Barton. Well done. Nice mcok draft the other day as well.)
